Hello...Aloha! Just a brief update...although there isn't much going on here on my blog at the moment, I can assure you that I am busy, busy, busy behind the scenes! I am still working away on the Saturn-Neptune book whenever I am able, I am building a whole new Venus Illuminated site, adding tons of new products to my ebay shop, rebuilding Voices from Venus (yes, again...) and doing all I can to keep up with the scopes, calendars, and rituals as I currently have a very heavy client load. So, unfortunately, I haven't had time to write any forecasts or new articles for a bit.

It's nice and balmy here in Hilo, Hawaii, my temporary home...I have escaped the heat and humidity of Florida summers for the first time in 15 years! I had thought to finish the book while here as summer is usually my 'slow' time consulting-wise, but this year is different (the 3 recent eclipses may have something to do with that! :))

The Cauldron Erupts! – The 3rd (and final) Jupiter – Saturn opposition – March 2011

We’ve all witnessed and experienced a lot of change on a global scale since I began this series on the current Jupiter-Saturn opposition cycle and its impact on relationships back in May of 2010, but how many of us are still trapped in our dreary relationships, entombed in our materialistic mindset? Or unable to bring a desired relationship to fruition because we’ve been unable to shift our own negative patterns when it comes to relating? All of that is about to change, and for the better if you are a brave soul who can latch on to the potent energy of Jupiter and Uranus pushing through Aries.

The 3rd and final opposition (in the current cycle) takes place on March 28, 2011 at 5:10 pm US EDT at 14’21 Libra (Saturn) and 14’21 Aries (Jupiter). The Sabian Symbol for 14 Aries is A Serpent Coiling Near A Man And A Woman. A Serpent. In order to understand and digest what I am about to say, you must first throw away any misconceptions you may have regarding the Serpent as a force of evil. The Serpent is a sacred, healing symbol of The Goddess, a regenerative life force and a “vehicle of immortality.” (The Once and Future Goddess, Elinor W Gadon, pg 47). The snake is also a symbol of transformation and renewal and, as discussed quite thoroughly in the previous Jupiter-Saturn articles (see The Potent Relationship Brew and The Cauldron Bubbles), transformation is what we are being asked to embrace.

The Goddess will show herself potently and clearly during this opposition as Venus will have moved into the Piscean waters where she is extremely comfortable. She can relax here and allow love to flow; however, she requires a transformative, spiritual love while traveling amidst these waters. Not just anyone will do and if Venus is unhappy with her experiences, Neptune is close by and he is always willing to lend Venus a hand when she needs one. After Venus and Mars were caught in a trap Vulcan erected to catch them together, they were fiercely ridiculed by the other Gods. Neptune, however, took matters more seriously and offered to pay Mars debts if he couldn’t so that he could go free. In some versions of the story, Neptune was willing to marry Venus himself after she was cast aside by Vulcan. At the time of the opposition, Mars is also in Pisces and is caught as the focal point of a t-square with the nodal axis, now moving through Gemini-Sagittarius. Mars is not so potent in Pisces and may express himself somewhat as a victim; Mars does not enjoy being held captive. I feel Neptune’s hand here, offering to bail Mars out. The balance point – or outlet – of this t-square is 26’39 Virgo: A Boy With A Censer Serves The Priest Near The Altar. This is a cleansing energy, an energy intended to strip away falsity and pretense in our relationships.

When the energy of Venus and Neptune are combined, as they are at the time of the Jupiter-Saturn opposition, a tidal wave of understanding may crash over us. We may finally understand the importance of mating with someone who can really dive below the surface and reach the depth of one’s erotic needs. Many relationships will be found to be lacking, as symbolized by the Mars – nodal axis t-square. The serpent will be coiled close to man and woman, urging both to let go of their inhibitions, their feelings of shame, and any lingering guilt they harbor regarding sexual satisfaction and emotional intimacy so they can evolve through relationship.

During the 3rd Jupiter-Saturn opposition, both sexes will desire to feel an alchemical connection with their partners and may lose any interest in continuing to preserve a troubled, unsatisfying relationship – UNLESS one is still bound too firmly to the material world. Breaking apart these bindings is the intention of the final Jupiter-Saturn opposition, and the Goddess disguised as Serpent will be present. Picture a Boa constrictor coiling around the bindings which trap two people in a relationship that no longer serves their individual growth…if the serpent puts on enough pressure, the cords will eventually snap and free the individuals. The pressure will be more intense if one partner (Jupiter) is ready to move on and the other is still clinging to the past (Saturn).

If you are one who is dragging his or her feet and refusing to let go and embrace change in your relationship or style of relating, the cauldron WILL erupt with or without your permission. The brew has been boiling for months now, on high boil since last August, and the process is nearing completion. Go ahead and give yourself permission to make necessary changes in your life because that will make Saturn more comfortable and less controlling. Utilize his energy to build up new structures even as the old support system continues to shift beneath you. The Sabian symbol representing Saturn’s energy during this final opposition is 14 degrees Libra, In The Heat Of The Noon Hour A Man Takes A Siesta. Holding on to old habits, destructive or useless patterns, and trying to hold up the weight of the dead is draining! If something has died, why continue to pretend that it is alive and vibrant? If your methods and thought-patterns are not creating the life you wish to lead, why continue to hold on to them? What will really happen if you step back and take a nap? Sleeping – dreaming - can bring answers to our deepest questions and find solutions to our most difficult problems. Don’t be afraid to sleep!

Saturn is retrograde during this last Jupiter-Saturn opposition suggesting that it is time to build up a more solid personal inner structure as once Saturn turns direct at 10’26 Libra on June 23, 2011, the ‘eruption’ will be in full force and there may not be a way to turn back. We need to be able to support ourselves as our old structures are collapsing and we can no longer depend on them. Use the interim, between March 28 and June 13, to take practical steps toward a new way of being. For some of you this may well mean that you leave an outdated partnership and strike out on your own. For others, it may mean that you are the one who is left. Those who are single but lonely may find themselves ready for a committed partnership after they’ve done more personal work on themselves. As always, it depends on your own circumstances. Do what work you need to do to prepare for your own situation.

The Sun is square to Pluto at the time of the Jupiter-Saturn opposition – you are no longer the person you were last May. At the height of the oppositional energy, Uranus is firmly ensconced in Aries and lodged temporarily at the Aries point (0 degrees) in a conjunction with Black Moon Lilith (yes, more Snake energy). No, there is no going back. You cannot turn back the hands of time (though strong Saturn types might try!); you can only look forward, toward the future.

Pluto has been raiding the Capricornian lair as well and Saturn must accept changes within his own domain. He may not like it but he is facing off against his own sons again, Jupiter (Zeus), Neptune (Poseidon), and Pluto (Hades)…his kingdom was divided amongst them when they sent him to Tartarus and here they are again, forcing him to relinquish control and surrender. As Saturn is in Venus’ sign of Libra, relationships are of great concern…they can be our greatest vehicle of transformation now, either toward a more loving union with others or with our own being. With the strong Aries energy pulling us into our individuality, it is important to express who we really are deep inside – this is why we’ve been boiling away in the cauldron for so long – as otherwise, we will be unable to form a satisfying and deeply erotic (transformative) union with another. No matter what our individual relationship challenge may be, we all have the potential and the responsibility (a nice Saturn word) to transform our way of relating and to embrace the changes that are upon us.

In the opposition chart, the Sun is at 7 degrees Aries, squaring Pluto at 7 degrees Capricorn…I find that the Sabian Symbol for 7 Aries is a potent one: A Man Successfully Expressing Himself In Two Realms At Once. What more does a relationship ask of us other than to successfully express and honor ourselves while listening to and honoring another? To literally live in two realms at once – within our own Being and within the relationship entity. The Veiled Prophet Speaks, Seized by the Power of God is the Sabian symbol for 7 Capricorn. This is a fateful interaction and the tension between Aries at 7 degrees and Capricorn 7 degrees is one asking us to LISTEN as well as successfully express ourselves – this is about COMMUNICATION and how two people must be able to communicate truthfully, from the heart, with one another in order to know what is happening within. Words spoken now will have a fateful, perhaps prophetic quality to them…Mercury is septile to Venus at the time of the opposition, suggesting a timely cosmic intervention may help push us forward in our love lives.

Mars, freed by Neptune, will move into his own sign of Aries on April 2nd, happily joining Uranus and the Black Moon at 1 Aries at the time of the New Moon in Aries on April 3rd at 13’29 degrees…this may be the day the eruption begins for many of us, once the Moon begins to separate from the Sun and triggers the very tender 14 degrees Aries, which we’ve seen is the exact degree Jupiter opposed Saturn from on March 28th. This New Moon is definitely a time of new beginnings, even if they are brought about in war-like or aggressive fashion.

The gift of the cauldron, the gift of the ‘eruption,’ is the inner gold that has been transmuted from Saturn’s prima matter. The inner gold will boil over the sides of the cauldron and streams of liquid gold may spew up into the air…it may not be possible to contain this eruption; perhaps you shouldn’t try. Although you may not feel there is a ‘gift’ while you remain inside the cauldron, by the end of June 2011 you should certainly be aware of the beneficial aspects of any hardship or growing pains you’ve been experiencing in your relationships. This is the third and final powerful confrontation between Jupiter-Saturn, marking the culmination of a ten year build up in intensity that began at the last Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Taurus at 22’42 degrees on May 28, 2000. Whatever we began in May 2000 that continues to inhibit our own evolution needs to be relinquished. If we’ve been doing our inner work since May 2010, when Jupiter first opposed Saturn in the current cycle, we should be able to finalize our plans peacefully and with integrity.

When you are ready, expose your dreams to the world…share yourself with others, even if you must relinquish control, even if your dreams and goals no longer mesh with someone you’ve been with for years. It is time to be your own unique being and to embrace the person you are becoming. Be vulnerable if you need to; be honest. The time is swiftly approaching - Be YOU. You’ve earned it. This is your gold! As Minister John M Mason said: “As every thread of gold is valuable, so is every moment of time.” Life is short. Don’t waste it.

Pallas Athene - Unlocking Doors to our Future - the Asteroid Pallas in the Natal Chart

To AthenaI begin to sing of Pallas Athene, the glorious goddess, bright-eyed, inventive, unbending of heart, pure virgin, saviour of cities, courageous, Tritogeneia. From his awful head wise Zeus himself bare her arrayed in warlike arms of flashing gold, and awe seized all the gods as they gazed. But Athena sprang quickly from the immortal head and stood before Zeus who holds the aegis, shaking a sharp spear: great Olympus began to reel horribly at the might of the bright-eyed goddess, and earth round about cried fearfully, and the sea was moved and tossed with dark waves, while foam burst forth suddenly: the bright Son of Hyperion stopped his swift-footed horses a long while, until the maiden Pallas Athene had stripped the heavenly armour from her immortal shoulders. The masculine birth of Pallas Athene, in which she sprung fully formed from Zeus’s head, is immortalized in the Homeric Hymn. The story of Pallas is much older than the Greek version, however. She appears earlier as an aspect of the triple goddess Neith of Egyptian culture(2) and bore the title of Tritogenia, which means her origins are of the water. Her roots may spread further into the past as there are also correlations between a Neolithic goddess known as Mistress of the Waters(3), whose physical form was that of a snake. The Mistress of the Waters was a fertility goddess, a potent, sexual-creative energy which resonates with Pallas Athene well. The energy of the Sea is a very feminine energy, and one which Pallas initially carried. We will see the transition from her feminine and matriarchal essence to her more androgynous nature in the following myth.

In another, longer version of the Greek myth, Pallas’s mother Metis (whose name meant counsel) was taken against her will by Jupiter (Zeus) and Pallas was conceived. However, during Metis’ pregnancy, there was a prophecy that stated that Metis would later give birth to a child who would become the King of the Gods. This startled Jupiter, who did not wish to be supplanted. So Jupiter, being the All Mighty being that he is, swallowed Metis whole in order to prevent this catastrophe. When he developed a horrendous headache and couldn’t take the pain any longer, he had his head cleft open with an axe. Pallas sprang from the wound fully grown and formed and immediately became Jupiter’s favorite, his brain-child.

Bite the Poisoned Apple - The Dark Side of the Moon & Venus in Aspect

Many astrological cookbooks treat the Moon – Venus aspect as very congenial...just excellent. I've read somewhere, though I can't remember where, that this is the 'milk and cookie' aspect. Ironically, this may not be too far from the truth, at least for the women with this aspect. As someone who has Venus conjunct Jupiter and the Moon, I not only have professional experience working with others with the Moon and Venus in aspect, but also dramatic personal experience. The Moon - Venus aspect has a distinctively darker side that is rarely mentioned; thus, my interest in bringing more attention to how this aspect can function in a harmful - yet Soul-evolving - way than what has so (too) often been written.

Please be aware that aspects taken out of context of the whole chart can be misleading; despite this potential, it is often useful to examine each individual piece of the puzzle first before integrating the entire chart. Thlook at the Moon & Venus in aspect is an exercise in examining just one small piece of a very complicated and intriguing puzzle - that of an individual Soul and what is represented in his or her natal chart.

The Initiation

The poisoned apple and the sleeping death brought to us so vividly in the story of Snow White can be viewed as an analogy to the Moon (Sleep, Dream-world, Unconscious) and Venus (the Apple has long been associated with Venus and the feminine, love, fertility) in aspect.

Biting the Apple (a Mars action – penetration) leads to a deeper understanding and awakening of womanhood or the feminine, but one must experience ‘love’s first kiss’ in order to be truly initiated.

The Moon – Venus aspect can become ‘poisoned’ and painful at adolescence. The first love is a rite of passage for these individuals and often, our first love is our parent of the opposite sex. Yet, as the Moon-Venus individual blossoms into womanhood, she may be suddenly thrust away from her father or shamed (by her mother or other female role model) for expressing her love and affection in a natural way.

A simple hug or kiss can turn into the ‘poisoned apple’ (tainted love) without warning or understanding. The initiation (recognition that one is changing – becoming a woman, becoming fertile) can feel like the death of her relationship with her father…and her mother.

Mother as the Wicked Queen (or evil witch)

The Moon-Venus individual’s Mother (or other mother figure) may feel uncomfortable with her daughter’s blush of adolescent beauty. She may feel that she is in decline and her own concern of her loss of beauty (Venus) through aging is amplified by her confrontation with the Moon-Venus child’s innocent erotic power. When she looks in her magic mirror, the mother is no longer the fairest in the land. If the mother is unable to embrace the beauty in wisdom (the apple) of her approaching Hecate phase, she will – consciously or unconsciously – begin poisoning her daughter psychologically with mixed messages and signals.

The Cauldron bubbles – the 2nd Jupiter – Saturn Opposition, August 2010

As we approach the 2nd Jupiter-Saturn opposition in the current cycle, Saturn has moved back into Libra and Jupiter remains in Aries, albeit in retrograde motion. This opposition will occur on August 16, 2010 at 2’26 Libra (Saturn) and 2’26 Aries (Jupiter) at 3:24 pm US EDT. The Sabian Symbol for 2 degrees Aries is A Comedian Reveals Human Nature…perhaps it would be more fitting to consider the ‘comedian’ in this case to be more like the Fool in the Tarot. The Fool is a very Jupiterian symbol; he can appear foolish to Saturn because he trusts in the Universal unfolding to such an extent that he can step off a cliff with a smile on his face. Saturn would be literally petrified at the possibility of rushing headlong into the future without safeguards and guarantees. Jupiter sees potential and takes risks with passion, often rushing headlong into situations because he has faith in his own ability to deal with whatever lies ahead. He also has faith in the Universe, something Saturn simply can’t comprehend with his need to protect and hold on to everything from the past. Saturn fears change unless he is in control of the physical building of the structure. The perfection of the Sabian Symbol for this Jupiter-Saturn opposition must be remarked upon. The Comedian (Jupiter, the Fool) reveals Human Nature…what is more common to humanity than Saturn’s tragic fears? Saturn fears becoming something more than the physical; he strives to maintain boundaries that can be touched or physically experienced. He needs to know something is real, yet he only believes in his own definition of reality. Jupiter is oh, so much more…everything beyond the physical is the realm where Jupiter likes to play. He is at home in the Spirit world of intuition, philosophy, and inspiration…he revels in the fires of Hope…he is a visionary taking a gamble with life as he reaches for all that can’t be seen in the great beyond.

When Jupiter and Saturn face each other across the Zodiac, Jupiter is pushing Saturn to transform his attitude and his approach to life. With Saturn in Libra, the transformation longed for (or expected) will affect our relationships and how we perceive our role within them. Jupiter in Aries is impatient and eager to make changes, and his retrograde position makes his thrust for inner change all the more potent. Retrograde planets help us to utilize a planetary energy in an alternative way…with Jupiter in Aries retrograde, we turn more inward and focus on our personal visions and understanding. It is a time to develop a stronger personal philosophy which suits who you are now rather than basing your beliefs – and actions – on worn out criteria. Jupiter wants to shake Saturn up and make him see that there is great potential for personal, spiritual growth in an erotic (transformative) relationship. If we are caught up in a relationship that no longer supports our growth and potential – or worse, prevents that very thing - this opposition between Jupiter retrograde in Aries and Saturn in Libra will make us very uncomfortable as we come to the realization that we are being dishonest and phony not only in our relationship, but with our own True Self! Focusing too much on Saturn – security and the known – leaves a deep void if we struggle to retain old structures and relinquish the joy that can be found when we let go and step off that cliff. If we look at Saturn’s Sabian Symbol for the 2nd opposition, we have The Transmutation Of The Fruits Of Past Experiences Into The Seed-Realizations Of The Forever Creative Spirit. Difficult past experiences and restrictions (Saturn) in our relationships have helped bring us to this point of self-understanding…we are becoming aware of our need for a more erotic love, a love that supports the development of our Creative Spirit (Jupiter!).

Bubbles of discontent will begin rising to the surface of our consciousness more rapidly during this 2nd opposition. Saturn is in the alchemist’s cauldron and Jupiter has lit the flames beneath with his passionate new hopes and visions for a more erotic future. Jupiter is boiling Saturn alive within the cauldron, forcing him to change his patterns, his beliefs, and his ideas of what relationship and relating mean. This may not be a fast and sudden process – though with Uranus and Pluto involved, it may well be for some of us – no, it can take time to transmute Saturn’s prima material into uncommon gold. At this opposition we are embedded in the cardinal t-square, with Saturn and Jupiter squaring Pluto in Capricorn (2’59 degrees). As we’ve already looked at the Sabian Symbol for both Saturn and Libra, let’s consider Pluto’s involvement. The symbol for 3 degrees of Capricorn is A Human Soul, In Its Eagerness For New Experiences, Seeks Embodiment. Embodiment. A Soul seeking Embodiment…Jupiter pulls the Soul up out of Saturn’s prison and Pluto transforms it into something – someone – new through NEW experiences. This is a cardinal t-square. There is going to be great pressure to make changes so that our true beings can arise from deep within and then…and then be thrust back into body almost as a new entity. This is the power of seeking out and being involved in an erotic (transformative) relationship.

Transformation is the key word for the 2nd Jupiter-Saturn opposition and the cardinal t-square. This is reaffirmed – as if we need any further clues! – byBlack Moon Lilith sextile Pluto and Pallas sextile/trine the nodal axis. In Karmic astrology, many of us use wider orbs and I would not hesitate to suggest that Pluto is conjunct the North Node and functioning on a karmic level. If your current partnership is an unhappy, karmic one, you can expect further difficulties to arise between you at this time. The Moon is in Scorpio at the time of the opposition, enhancing the Plutonian energy of the t-square as Pluto ravages Saturn’s Capricornian lair. Another very interesting aspect at the time of the opposition is the Sun in square to Sedna . The Sun, our Creative Spirit, in his own domain (Leo) squaring Sedna, the Goddess of the Deep – who has a deep need for fulfillment of physical security needs – in Taurus, the sign of physical needs. This is a secondary ‘battle’ very similar to the one ongoing between Saturn (form) and Jupiter (Spirit) and take careful note of the following – Sedna is at the same zodiac degree as the last Saturn-Jupiter conjunction on May 28, 2000. 22-23 degrees Taurus. A Jewelry Shop Filled With Valuable Gems. This is truly a war between our own security-driven needs and our ability to have faith in our future. Do we trust ourselves – Jupiter in Aries retrograde – to make a difference in our OWN lives? Do we really need all the trappings and gems of the material world? Are you willing to sacrifice your own Spirit in order to maintain Saturn’s comforts? What did you begin in May 2000 that brings you material security but may inhibit your own alchemical transformation?

How you answer these questions depends on your own natal chart, your personality, and your mind-set…but be warned, this is Jupiter’s main purpose at this time – to make us aware of how we are lying to ourselves about our relationships and our ability to relate on a higher level. It’s intense, but being inside a cauldron tends to be that way! And I haven’t even mentioned the upcoming Venus-Mars conjunction in Libra in square to the nodal axis. If any two immortals enjoyed an erotic relationship, it was Venus and Mars. Their union rocked the entire pantheon and, in some myths, created Eros himself. Their upcoming rendezvous will last for 5 days (August 17 – 22nd) in Venus’ own sign, where she tantalizes, disarms, and satisfies Mars in a way no other Goddess could. This is Love…Erotic, transformative Love. We have to look deeply now, deep into our own situation and into our own relationship beliefs, and determine if we are ready to be true to our self and to the greater Universe for each of us are our own little Universe, encased in flesh, grounded in human form. This is the PIONEER (Jupiter in Aries) showing the shaggy deer (Saturn) the way forward through the icy tundra (Pluto)…you may feel alone as you navigate this new territory, but it is time to be true to your heart despite the difficulties that lie ahead. This may be very much an inner process at this time as Jupiter is retrograde, but what you come to understand and transform within your own being and how you relate to others will externalize and manifest more concretely by the 3rd and final opposition on March 28, 2011. With Saturn retrograde and the Sun (Aries) square to Pluto at that time, it will be a time to break out of frustrations, reassess or break past commitments, and welcome the inner Pioneer within as we lay the groundwork for a more transformative, soul-inspiring relationship that will enable and support us on our own individual evolutionary journey . Most of us will be unable to continue in a situation that no longer serves our own being. The following quote by Mother Jones fits the Aries-Libra-Capricorn t-square beautifully:

Summer Solstice, a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, and Solar Initiation - Setting your mark and hitting the bull’s eye

At Midsummer, June 21st, the Sun is at his zenith—its highest point – as he enters Cancer. He appears to stand still to us here on earth, if only for a short time. After the Sun reaches his zenith, he begins to wane...he steps onto the path that leads to the fall harvest and eventually winter (in the northern hemisphere).

Midsummer is also called the Summer Solstice, Litha, St. John’s Eve, the Oak Festival, and Sun Blessing, to name a few. It is the longest day of the year and thus, also the shortest night of the year (this is reversed in the southern hemisphere – shortest day and longest night – it is Yule rather than Midsummer).

In 2010, the Sun’s move into Cancer acts as an initiation, preparing us for the increasing potency of the (almost) Cardinal Grand Cross which will culminate in intensity at the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on June 26, 2010 at 7:30 am (US EDT). The Sabian Symbol upon the Sun’s entry into Cancer is On a Ship The Sailors Lower An Old Flag And Raise A New One…and as the Universe is always perfect, this symbol, too, is perfect for the upcoming grand cross. This IS a time of initiation for all of us, but particularly for those of us with planets resting at 0 – 4 degrees in the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, & Capricorn) as well as those with planets in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) at 28 – 29 degrees. The imagery of a flag being lowered and replaced is a sign of great upheaval and change. It is the image of one country taking over another; an image of a pirate capturing a ship and raising the crossbones; an image of a stale relationship ending while a new one is initiated. This isn’t about simply entering into a new phase of life, it is about endings as well as a new beginning. It can be exciting and terrifying all at once, depending on your own situation and personality.

Symbolically, as the great Solar god moves into Cancer, males will be asked to honor their emotional needs. Over the next few months, as we all deal with the energy of the Grand Cross (which will morph back into the ongoing T-square of Saturn, Pluto, Uranus, & Jupiter once the Sun is out of orb on June 27th - 28th) as well as the upcoming Lunar (June 26, 2010) and Solar eclipse (July 11, 2010), I would not be surprised if men begin to take the lead in asking for what they want in relationships. This is a new flag in itself as that in the past, in heterosexual endings, the woman is usually the one to finalize and sever a long-term partnership. The Cancerian Solar initiation for heterosexual men may well be a deeper embrace of their feminine side, including recognizing their emotional needs, wants, and desires in partnerships; as they recognize what they are missing, they could begin to seek it with the cardinal Grand Cross and ongoing T-square, especially as Saturn re-enters relationship-oriented Libra (think balance and equality) on July 21st. The old Karmic task-master will then move forward and oppose Uranus for the last time (this time around) on July 26th.

At the time of the Summer Solstice (Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere), as the Grand Cross is created and activated, the Moon is supporting the Sun with a trine, adding to the emotional intensity. Some of us may become overly defensive or self-protective, preferring to pull back into a shell of our own creation…unfortunately, if you are the one holding on and clinging to the past and refusing to change, you will find that your shell will be shattered before the summer is through. There is no going back. No return to the womb. No return to ‘how things used to be,’ especially in relationships. Only if both you and your partner are in a total state of denial, which means you certainly aren’t reading this blog! As men are likely to take the lead now, women trying to sort out a partnership may need to check and double-check themselves and how they are behaving in their relationship. Have you been neglecting your lover? If so, it’s time to wake up and give yourself a good shake because if a lover decides to leave now, he may be half-way out the door before you know what is happening. Of course this works both ways and women are just as likely to overthrow their relationships if their needs are not being met or they’ve outgrown a partnership…this, however, won’t be as shocking as the male leaving a long-term live-in situation or marriage. Why? As previously noted, heterosexual men who have been taught to repress their emotions are usually the last to recognize or acknowledge that their relationship is a dead-end and even if they do, they may try to make it last due to a feeling of responsibility, concern over how much money they will lose in the process of divorce, or feeling obligated due to needing to be the strong man and do what is ‘right.’ These themes can play out in gay as well as straight relationships, depending on which partner is the more ‘masculine’ or solar-oriented.

I feel it is important to note the aspects to Chiron at the Solstice, as the Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto are all in a tribal meeting with the sacred healer…the Chironic energy can help us to seek new paths through deeper understanding and a shift in perspective. Chiron’s Sabian Symbol is In a Crowded Marketplace Farmers and Middlemen Display A Great Variety Of Products…this can be interpreted, in the context of unsettled relationships, as the availability of others who we may bond with on a deeper level. If you feel at a loss and are in the process of separation this summer, Chiron promises that there are other fish (Chiron is at Pisces 00’50) in the sea and they may well be better suited than the unfeeling mercenary you’ve been living with. If there is still hope to work things out with a lover and revitalize a partnership, Chiron may be reminding you that if you want your partner you should always keep in mind that there are others out there who would be just as interested as you are. Juno has also just passed out of a weak Grand Cross formation as she opposed Pluto from June 15th – 18th, so issues raised in a long-term partnership during this time period will be reaffirmed and intensified when the Sun moves into this position and passes over the same degree (4 – 5 degrees Cancer) at the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on June 26th.

The Grand Cross formation is not exactly a tight one at the Lunar Eclipse. The Moon joins Pluto at 4 degrees Capricorn and together they oppose the Sun at 4 degrees Cancer (actually 4’46 Cancer and 4’46 Capricorn; retrograde Pluto is at 4’05 Capricorn). This in itself is a powerful event. Secrets or desires can be exposed now that rock the very foundation of our perception of a relationship…or our perception of our self within that relationship. Pluto retrograde conjunct the Moon in Capricorn (approaching a sextile with Chiron) may ask us how our financial beliefs or desires are affecting us emotionally. We may come to understand that we have been sacrificing our very own Soul because our material security needs are too powerful. The Sun can shine some light on this by making us aware that our emotional needs are important too. Ask yourself, do you need to make a temporary financial sacrifice in order to improve your emotional life? If we are unhappy in our most important relationships, we are not functioning at our best…vibrating at a lower level or feeling depressed or put upon constantly means that you are not capable of living an abundant life. Monetary gain is empty and potentially difficult to come by if we are unhappy emotionally. Feeling happy gives us a glow that is naturally attractive and it raises our vibrational energy levels exponentially…happiness is a powerful attractant for all resources, money included.

Three other planets are involved in this Grand Cross…Uranus on the Aries point at 00’33, Jupiter at 2’14 Aries, and Saturn dragging behind at 28’25 Virgo. He will formally enter Libra again on July 21st, working his way toward the final exact opposition with Uranus on July 26th. Six degrees from Saturn to the Sun and Moon-Pluto is quite a large orb to use for a transit but he is pulled into it via Uranus on the Aries point…this energy will be active. In Cardinal signs, the Grand Cross suggests that we will be driven to make changes quickly, but we cannot overlook the fact that Saturn is still lagging behind in Virgo…this won’t even officially be a ‘Cardinal’ T-square until Saturn is back in Libra. Virgo, while mutable and able to shift with the tides, is a very detailed earth energy. Saturn here will slow things down as he will feel a great need to attend to the details even as Uranus and Jupiter are pulling on him in an attempt to drag him along. He will come…when he is good and ready. The Moon and Pluto are also in an earth sign, and Pluto is retrograde. There will be a need to ground the emotions and deal with all the inner turmoil and exposure as it arises. Though Saturn is going to slow things down a bit, it is likely that we need it. Aries is impatient and can overlook the importance of tying up loose ends…Saturn will ensure that the details are taken care of and will feel pressured to do so quickly. The Lunar Eclipse Grand Cross suggests that much of what we experience will take place internally as Pluto churns things up for review…we may find ourselves beginning to take care of the details as fast as possible so that we may begin to make an opening in our life for a new journey. The Sun is going to highlight our emotional needs while the Moon and Pluto examine how our security needs are preventing us from attracting all the good and wonderfully unique experiences (Jupiter and Uranus) we desire into our lives. Grand Cross energy is intense, dynamic, and motivating…but it is a closed circuit and it can bounce back and forth – corner to corner – within our beings unless we make a conscious effort to focus our energy and take small but necessary steps to create what we desire.

The good news is that while this energy will resonate for a while due to the Lunar eclipses involvement, we will not be caught up in the Grand Cross for very long. The Sun will be on his way by June 28th, releasing us back into the arms of the (almost) Cardinal T-square…and a T-square IS dynamic and will push us to push ourselves out of our stale beliefs, perspectives, and relationships. Things will really start heating up in July, with a Solar Eclipse in Cancer and Saturn’s approach to Libra, which will form the Cardinal T-square with an outlet point of 0 – 3 degrees Cancer. It’s a time where we will realize that in order to nurture our selves we must take a very close look at our relationships, our financial security issues, and our individual needs. We will come to a deep understanding of how old Soul desires that no longer suit us can capture and exhaust us. To revitalize our own Selves, we need to break out of old patterns and embrace what makes us happy now. Sometimes we must relinquish things in our lives we never dreamed we’d want to let go of but if you wake up in the morning and your relationship (or home or job) seems like a prison cell, then the sell by date has long since passed. Soul satisfaction is not just a desire, it is a need…during this unsettled yet dynamic summer (or winter, if you are in the Southern Hemisphere) find what (or who) makes you happy, aim carefully, and pull the string of the Cardinal T-square back with trust and certainty that you will hit the mark.

The Jupiter-Saturn Opposition and the potent relationship brew

The stagnation of the past several weeks eases up as the wheel begins to turn at a faster pace, bringing Jupiter at 27’52 Pisces into his first of three oppositions with the old Sea Goat Saturn at 27’52 Virgo on May 23, 2010 at 1:04 am US EDT. This is a powerful confrontation marking the culmination of a ten year build up in intensity, which began at the last Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Taurus at 22’42 degrees on May 28, 2000. On a personal level, think about what began in your life around that time and how it has changed your life. For me, personally, the conjunction took place on my Saturn-Juno conjunction in the 8th house…this was my first Saturn return and brought the gift of astrology more vividly into my world (trine my Mercury/Pluto conjunction on the 12th house cusp, sesquiquadrate my Uranus). Throughout the past ten years I have been studying and working hard, indulging myself thoroughly in this love and turning it outward to help others understand their lives and personalities on a deeper level. What did this energy do for you personally? What have you been developing and working on since that time?

As the series of oppositions unfold in your world – the 2nd opposition takes place on August 16, 2010 and the 3rd on March 28, 2011 - think about what is changing or what you’d like to change regarding what you began back in May 2000. Once this time period passes, we will begin to integrate all that has gone before, entering into a period marked more by reflection and relaxation as we come to terms with all that has changed in our lives. The oppositions represent an opportunity to reorganize our long term goals so we can continue to grow and develop anything of lasting value brought into our lives in May 2000 at a somewhat slower pace. The time of experimentation may fade into a time period of confidence as we share what we’ve learned on a broader scale. It’s good to begin developing a new strategy at this time as old fears can interfere with progress. Jupiter will help you to confront any challenges head on, urging you to deal with those old demons symbolized by transiting Saturn’s placement in your chart at 27’52 Virgo. Let go of anything that is harmful, painful, or inhibiting that came about through the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in May 2000 at this time and you will feel freer and better able to embrace hope for a positive, inspiring future.

Being not only an astrologer but very much a relationship astrologer, I cannot talk about a major astrological event without discussing how it may potentially affect us in our relationships. As always, it depends on your personal chart and current relational circumstance, but if we take a closer look at the exact opposition chart, there are several tense relationship markers. Lovely Venus is caught up in Pluto’s intense gaze as she enters into an opposition aspect with the Dark Lord, shortly after having important, perhaps secretive, discussions with bombastic Uranus on May 19th. Pluto wants to know what is going on; what insight did Venus gain from her rendezvous with Uranus? With Venus making recent Neptune and Chiron connections as well, it is a clear message that many of us have been concerned about our relationships and their direction. We see support for this conclusion with Venus in contact with our Mother dwarf planet Ceres, asteroid Hygeia, and her approaching trine to Pallas at the time of the Jupiter-Saturn opposition. Uranus may have filled her head with very vivid and fantastic ideas about how to improve her love life, whether that means leaving a relationship for greener fields or making the most of what is available in a present relationship in order to revitalize it. With the background of the Uranus-Saturn opposition lingering, many of us are unsatisfied with how our relationships are progressing. The old ways no longer work. As Jupiter opposes Saturn and we look back over the past ten years, we may realize that a relationship begun (or one that changed) around the time of the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in 2000 simply is not what we need any longer. If this is true for you, take the positive memories and developments (especially any children born during the past 10 years), and let go of what isn’t working. This may mean that you and your partner need to revitalize the entire connection from the ground up. Or it may mean that it is literally time to let go, move on, and heal. Chiron and Hygeia in connection to Venus are present for a reason. Healing is needed, whatever that means for you in your personal circumstances. Pluto and Pallas are waiting in the wings to help Venus transform her situation and find happiness for who she is becoming now. Pluto in Capricorn will help to transform old relationship structures while Pallas in Scorpio will dig, dig, dig for the truth, enabling Venus to find her way around obstacles and transform her vision of what she is capable of. With Venus in the sign of home-loving, nurturing Cancer, children may be the primary concern and focus…they may also be used as an ‘obstacle’ or excuse to stay in a miserable relationship situation. Pallas’ presence will help Venus figure out how to make the most of any situation, protecting her own needs as well as her children’s. One of the primary questions we may ask ourselves at this time is, who do we belong with? Who is part of our natural ‘tribe?’ Who do we truly resonate with, and is our current home truly our ‘home?’ We need deep bonds to others like ourselves when Venus is in Cancer, but many of us tend to confuse bloodlines and ancestry with tribal connections. Not everyone in our ‘family’ is really our family; not everyone we live with really resonates with who we are. Pluto and Pallas together will make us very aware of this at this time.

We are in the tail end of the First Quarter Moon phase during the Jupiter-Saturn opposition. With the Moon in Libra, we see, again, that the focus is on relationships. There is a need for harmonious communication but that may be impossible with all the tension she is under, indeed, in square to Venus herself. At the same time she is separating from a conjunction to sober Saturn, an opposition to expansive Jupiter and wild Uranus, and approaching a square to Pluto and Mother Ceres, as well as a semisquare to Hygeia and a quincunx to Chiron. Her recent trine to Vulcan brings even greater resonating sensitivity and intuition into the mix. The Sun is supportive, but his links to Uranus, Neptune, and the Black Moon Lilith may only serve to heighten any underlying anxiety felt by the Moon. Mercury in Taurus will try to hold back and contain his thoughts, but this may only serve to create more tension. Mars may be overly dramatic and confident in Leo, as he contacts Neptune, Cupido, and the Black Moon. Used positively, this energy makes for a time when Mars can be a powerful leader, cutting through the crap and helping those caught up in unfair predicaments to make necessary changes. Used arrogantly, and he can upset the applecart and then lash out in anger as he is super sensitive right now.

May 22nd – 23rd may be quite dramatic days for many of us as the tension that is brewing beneath the surface may become uncontainable. Unexpected expression of dissatisfaction in relationships is possible, and this opening can create positive change if you are able to talk things out with a partner and come to an understanding or fair agreement. It can be time of renewal, for you personally or for a partnership. Keep in mind, however, that once the talk begins, it will be very easy to express more than you ever intended and not only that, but whatever is said now may not sink in immediately, leaving you feeling unheard and potentially frustrated. Mercury in Taurus is too busy holding onto the past to truly allow the future thought-waves to penetrate too deeply. It could take some time, perhaps until the next Jupiter-Saturn opposition on August 16th. Or it may be sooner, when Mercury enters Gemini on June 10th. It truly depends on your individual state of affairs. Saturn turns forward on May 30th and this can help to speed situations along as we will be more eager to begin establishing new foundations – but honestly, there will be no true stability or foundation building at this time. Don’t expect it. Saturn will have the final face-off with Uranus on July 26th. Only after this time will we have the ability to truly sink the concrete or establish the roots for anything of permanence in our relationships. Between May 22nd and July 26th, we all have some serious clearing out to do. First we must find the way, and this is what the planetary energy of May 22nd – May 23rd will help us discover.

The poisoned apple and the sleeping death can be viewed as an analogy to the Moon (Sleep, Dream-world, Unconscious) and Venus (the Apple has long been associated with Venus and the feminine, love, fertility) in aspect.

Biting the Apple (a Mars action – penetration) leads to a deeper understanding and awakening of womanhood or the feminine, but one must experience ‘love’s first kiss’ in order to be truly initiated.

The Moon – Venus aspect can become ‘poisoned’ and painful at adolescence. The first love is a rite of passage for these individuals and often, our first love is our parent of the opposite sex. Yet, as the Moon-Venus individual blossoms into womanhood, she may be suddenly thrust away from her father or shamed (by her mother or other female role model) for expressing her love and affection in a natural way.

For a person with Saturn retrograde in the natal chart, intimacy fears are enormous. They may have an easy time connecting with others and could be very friendly and seemingly outgoing, but if you take a closer look you will soon realize that the Saturn retrograde person gets along fabulously with strangers or ‘new’ friends but tends to shut off - castrate -those who grow to love him or her or anyone who gets close enough to notice the fine cracks in their façade. The fear of not being good enough, not being what is expected, of being weak and vulnerable to others or worse, superseded or totally unneeded by anyone, drives the Soul with Saturn retrograde deeper and deeper into a cocoon of their own making…an isolated and lonely place to be, a stranger in the shadows watching others and wondering why he (or she) feels so horribly alone.

The Valentine New Moon is exact at 25’17 Aquarius and appears to be a very supportive New Moon to make far-reaching (perhaps unusual) changes in the way we interact with one another, not only on a broad Aquarian scale but also on a very personal level with the approaching Moon-Venus-Jupiter conjunction on Valentine’s Day itself (Venus will not exactly conjoin Jupiter until the 16th, but they are within a 3 degree orb at the New Moon) in the spiritually erotic sign of Pisces. The Moon will kiss Venus at 3:52 pm on the 14th (US EST) and then cozy up to Jupiter four hours later. Our need for love, affection, and inspiration will be underlined and thus, we should do whatever we can to create a loving, open, mutually supportive environment with our loved one. The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon degree is “A Butterfly With The Right Wing More Perfectly Formed” which suggests that we may feel a need to overcompensate. Perhaps we have been approaching love too intellectually and now find our feelings need to be honored and expressed. Emotions can easily get out of control and should be channeled into creative love-making or artistic endeavors.

While this energy is likely to be very uplifting and should help create a deep sense of connection between highly conscious and spiritually in-tune lovers - it could potentially be one very sensual day - other planetary signatures and aspects support the quest to break away from outmoded, stagnating partnerships. If you are involved in a rocky marriage or caught up in a situation you haven’t been able to get out of with a lover, Valentine’s day may take on a more somber or frustrating tone with transiting retrograde Saturn (in Libra) and transiting retrograde Mars (in Leo) both in very close quincunx to Venus (forming a yod, with Venus as the apex planet), just as she emerges out of the Sun’s arms and back into our view as the Evening Star (you should be able to see her in the US about 15 minutes after sunset - look to the right of the very slim beginning crescent Moon on the 14th. It was a pretty potent time with T Jupiter and T Pluto in exact sextile at the same time (along with the exact Saturn-Pluto square!). If you found yourself caught up in disagreements that seemed relatively minor on the surface, be aware that whatever cropped up is much more deeply embedded. In other words, it may be a symptom of an underlying ‘dis-ease’ lingering between you. The outlet point for this tension is Libra 20’49 so take a look at your chart(s) and see how you are supported or hindered in releasing the energy in a creative Mercurial - Venusian manner (Mercury is the decan sub-ruler for this degree). Writing out your feelings may help…speaking creatively and lovingly are also good bets but it is possible you will be misunderstood by your partner - on purpose. It is just too funny NOT to share! This lady ordered 2 computer readings that reached a grand total of $11.95. She ordered at 3:47 pm and sent the following at 3:50 pm...which I received to my blackberry while I was driving down the road:

"I just completed TWO purchases through your website - one was a 3 month romantic forecast report and the other was a compatibility mini report for TWO people. Your site took me right to paypal but never asked my birthdate, my lovers birthdate, none of the VITAL info that you would need to complete these reports. I recieved NOTHING. I want my money back and I want it back within the next 2 days. If I don't hear a response or get what I paid for --- I WILL report you to the better business bureau and I will make sure your site comes down for false advertisement."

Can anyone say IMPATIENT, RUDE, and OBNOXIOUS??? No where on the site does it say the computer readings are instant; in fact it says I personally deliver within 24 hours! (not 3 minutes!)

See what sort of behavior I must deal with online? She couldn't click a 'return to merchant link' or write an email to ask me what is happening. Btw, I always PERSONALLY confirm all readings, either my own or the computer ones as I do everything myself. If she had just waited 20 minutes I would have been home and would have written her to ask for the necessary info.

This type of thing is so sad. Luckily 98% of my site visitors and clients are absolutely FANTASTIC people and know how to communicate in a friendly manner. As for the other 2%, I don't care what they do with themselves. Especially this woman...who has a 3 minute limit on patience. Oh, she got her money back as soon as I returned home along with a note NEVER To come to any of my sites again.

Personalized Readings and Consultations by an Astrologer vs. Computerized Readings

I am sharing an article I wrote a number of years ago that I recently found buried in the maze of Through Night's Fire...my virtual mansion with many hidden rooms, LOL.

So you are looking for advice and let’s face it, there are many astrology sites out there offering services. How do you know which service or reading is right for you? Many of the computerized sites are run by people who don’t even know astrology themselves! Since I’ve recently began offering computerized readings myself, I thought I would take a moment to explain to you the difference between a personal reading by an astrologer and a computerized reading. What are the benefits of each? What are the drawbacks of each?

A computerized reading can offer good general insight. Say you want to know what is coming up over the next few months, just so you can have some idea of what could happen. The type of computerized reading that could help would be a forecast (otherwise known as a planetary transit reading)--be it a Love Forecast, a Business Forecast, or just an overall view, a computerized reading is the best way to go. For an astrologer to personally calculate and interpret your transits, she (or he) would have to spend many long and possibly torturous hours working with your charts. If you want a personal forecast by an astrologer, you are going to have to pay good money to receive one. Sure, some astrologers will tell you they are personally doing your transits…but guess what, they aren’t! Unless you are paying about 100+ for a 3 month forecast, they are selling you a computer reading they are trying to pass off as one they ‘personally’ worked for you. Any time you see these types of readings (example follows), you are probably receiving a computer reading:

(with a paragraph or so of text)

And so on and so forth. This is NOT a personal, handwritten reading, even if the ‘astrologer’ managed to take a few moments to input a few paragraphs of their own advice (in fact, most professional astrologers won‘t write their readings out anyway. Many simply talk to you via the phone or send you a tape. It is more difficult and time consuming to write out an astrology reading, which is why many won‘t even bother). If you just need a general overview, spending a lot of money just doesn’t make sense. However, if you have an important date coming up--your wedding, a major move--you may want to spend the money and hire a professional astrologer to get deeper insight and advice into what may happen.

My personal thoughts on computerized astrology readings is that they are best used to gain basic insight. If you want to know more about your compatibility in general with someone, get a computerized compatibility reading. If you really NEED to know the potential of a relationship and receive advice on how to navigate the relationship for the best possible positive relationship (particularly if you are in a difficult situation and need help), hire a professional astrologer to work your compatibility or even perhaps enter into a consulting relationship with your astrologer for ongoing advice and support. A computer reading can just look at your aspects and spit out various aspects (sometimes conflicting ones!) that can help you understand each other better. It obviously can’t give an opinion or offer support. But overall, a computerized compatibility can give you good insight into your relationship in general.

We will enter the Mercury retrograde 'shadow' period at 21’38 degrees of Virgo on August 18, 2009 - Mercury will return to this degree again and pass over this point September 29, 2009 as he stations direct and prepares to leave the storm on October 6 - 7th. Prepare to rethink, redraw, replan, renegotiate, etc something that happens over August 17 - 19th around then (September 29 - October 7th)! The Starving Soul & How to Feed it - Breaking Barriers to Love

While it is easy to recognize the symptoms of a physically starving person, the atrophy, fatigue, apathy, and weakness of one who has not had food or has been unable to eat or digest what food they did have for weeks or months, it may be considerably more difficult to recognize or acknowledge a starving soul. There are many among us here, now, incarnated in form who are wasting away spiritually and are in need of guidance, understanding, and most of all…food, in a spiritual sense.

Some Souls may be so disconnected from their own being that they do not know who they are or what they want out of life. They wander from relationship to relationship, job to job, place to place, spiritual camp to spiritual camp, searching…always searching for that one thing that continually escapes them, a sense of their own Self and their place in the world. As the search continues, these Souls may turn to mind-numbing experiences in order not to feel the pain…others become depressed or ill. They may enter counseling or see a doctor, seek out an astrologer or metaphysician, try a variety of healing exercises, get more exercise, practice yoga, go on a pilgrimage…do anything, anything, to ease the pain! While they can obtain some relief for a while, if they haven’t discovered the true source of their problem, the symptoms will gradually return.

The symptoms below will help you to recognize the Starving Soul of yourself or another:

Never-ending search for your Self

Ongoing feelings of discontent or worthlessness

Constant and significant escapism in all of it’s forms. Each Soul will chose a different form of escapism. Drugs, alcohol, sex addiction, food addiction, competitive sports (pushing the body until it becomes a mindless experience), etc

Trusting the ‘word’ of another, especially a so-called authority figure, over your own knowing and intuition

Looking for a savior to save you from yourself

Allowing abuse in your relationships

A dreaded fear of being alone

Mindlessly following a set of religious or spiritual beliefs but lack a sense of connection to those beliefs

Going along with the crowd, sometimes at the expense of your own being

Jumping from one religion or set of spiritual beliefs to another more than two times in your life

Extended episodes of depression, lasting more than a year (it is not uncommon or undesirable for us to experience depressive episodes. Melancholy itself can be a symptom of deeper Soul healing taking place).

Extreme co-dependence in relationships, with lovers, family, and friends

Lengthy episodes of floating anxiety (no known or obvious source)

Inability to give or receive sincere compliments or value the source of the compliments given

Lying, to the Self, to others - about the Self, about others

If one has two or more of the above symptoms, it is likely they are suffering from Soul starvation. The more symptoms, the deeper the gravity of their condition. These Souls are cut off from the bounty of the Universe - the Soul food of Spiritual connectedness - and while this may seem simplistic, the underlying culprit of this starvation is the inability to love. Without love we wither and waste away on a Soul level. When we are starving, we stop evolving, stop manifesting, and have little to share with the world. We are too weak to carry ourselves, let alone others. We have nothing to give.

Chapter 1: General Characteristics

It's a very sad state of affairs that I must write a blog about such a silly topic - seriously, I have much more constructive things to spend my time on, but I feel a need to set the record straight so that I may (hopefully) avoid being attacked, threatened, and basically 'disrespected' by my own site visitors in the future!

My websites are a labor of love. My offering the Karmic Scopes for the past 2 years has been a labor of love, one in which has cost me emotionally, energetically, and financially at times. I am NOT A CORPORATION! I am for the most part a one woman show - the entire site including the writing, the horoscopes, the site updates, customer service, rituals, calendars, articles...all of it are the work of me, myself, and I. I have one person who updates the weekly scopes and tarot when I can afford to pay her. It is a tremendous labor particularly in addition to my actual paid work, my clients, my family, my other sites, and my health. I do not have on the weekly scopes or tarot - "Guaranteed free weekly scopes (or tarot)". I have never misrepresented that I will, come rain, shine, hell, or highwater that I will do the horoscopes each and every week. Sometimes I simply can't, physically, mentally, or otherwise! My work can be extremely draining, especially with my neck/spinal injury due to the car accident I was in May 2005...sometimes I am unable to regenerate and focus enough to accomplish all my paid work and the free work. Of course my paid clients must be put first - business is business! Though I have actually been attacked for doing this! LOL See why I feel I must discuss this here publicly? I am 100% certain that if you were my client and I was failing in energy and needed to cut back on something that you would not want it to be your own reading, that you paid me for and trusted me to accomplish on time.

Those of you who know me, have been my clients, have came to the site for the past 8 years know that I do my very best - that I love my work, my clients, and my visitors (whether they ever pay a dime or not). Yet over the years I have been personally attacked by site visitors who become disgruntled if I made a mistake or error on the hundreds of pages of Through Night's Fire or fail to continue offering a service, free or otherwise.

Let me make this clear...I do not welcome threatening emails, emails tearing into me about me 'disrespecting' my visitors by failing to do the free scopes every week, or any other rude or ignorant complaint. I don't take kindly to being called names or threatening language - implied or direct. I DO welcome constructive feedback and having my visitors letting me know when I make errors on the pages. There is a difference between being helpful and being downright mean. I do not need or welcome unsolicited business advice by those who know absolutely nothing about my business or my life. I will not tolerate being treated unfairly, rudely, threatened, or attacked.

Having said all that, the majority of my visitors are lovely, evolved, and loving people who genuinely enjoy and appreciate the site and who get to know me over the years. I am here to be of service but I am not here to be trampled or enslaved. The wise reader/server of humanity knows instinctively that to be of any use to others that they must first take care of themselves. When I am unable to do any of the free services (or even the paid ones!) on the site, it is because I MUST take care of myself or be useless to anyone. It is unfortunate that some do not understand - or CARE - that I am also human and must regenerate. I work hard but when I must rest, I must. That is the nature of my life, the nature of my own astrological chart (which can be found posted on the site).

Regarding the Weekly Karmic Scopes, I have, in the past, asked for donations to help keep them going (it would be nice to at least be able to have enough donations to pay the lady who does the updates for me) and out of 3500 - 5000 visitors I have at the weekend to those pages guess how many donated anything? If you guessed ZERO you certainly win the kewpie doll. Now I am putting up the donation button again. This is my last attempt to keep the Weekly Karmic Love Scopes alive and Free. If no one chooses to donate (and the visitors can choose any amount!) then that will tell me that the scopes aren't all that valuable or appreciated (despite the web traffic to the pages). I will revisit this again in 1 month and at that time determine whether it is worth it for me to continue to offer them...I may elect to go to a paid service or just drop them from my weekly task list. It is now up to you, my visitors, to decide whether you value this service enough to occasionally toss a buck in the kitty to keep it going or not!

We will enter the Mercury retrograde 'shadow' period at 22’52 degrees of Taurus on April 22, 2009 - Mercury will return to this degree again and pass over this point May 30, 2009 as he stations direct and prepares to leave the storm on June 10th. Prepare to rethink, redraw, replan, renegotiate, etc something that happens over April 22nd around then (May 31 - June 8th)! This Mercury retrograde will stir up the most trouble...

In the process of becoming…Venus retrograde - March/April 2009

I love Venus…her intricacy and depth, the precision of her movements, the spiritual intensity and awakening we experience through her transformation from Evening to Morning Star. In much of modern western astrology we see Venusian energy watered down and formulated into key words and relatively light interpretations that are shameful sacrilege to her true essence. In my own recent journeys on the net I have read several interpretations of the upcoming Venus retrograde and while most of these contained valuable information, I felt that they failed to touch upon the true essence of the upcoming retrograde.

I’m not going to rehash all that others have written - what retrograde means, in particular. If you are here reading this, you already know what retrograde means. Nor am I going to get into explaining all of the astrological, metaphysical, or astronomical terminology I use as this distracts from the purpose and intent of this article (which is to discuss the possibilities and meaning of the Venus retrograde).

Venus will station retrograde at 15’27 Aries on March 6, 2009. She will be moving very slowly in preparation for this shift and will linger at 15 degrees of Aries from March 2 - March 11. The Sabian Symbol for 15 degrees of Aries is “An Indian weaving a blanket.” What does this image suggest to you? The weaving of a blanket calls upon the energy of yin and yang, the blending of passive and active energies that can bring about a balance…in the process of weaving, the warp and weft creates an item of worth, something to keep us warm when the sky darkens. Likewise, Venus stationing and turning retrograde at 15 degrees of Aries will help us create an ‘item of worth’ as our struggles and insights during this time will help refine our souls. During the retrograde period Venus will shift from her masculine Evening Star phase to her feminine Morning Star phase…this is a process of transformation and some may have to deal with the bloodier aspects of this becoming. This is not just a simple ‘time to go inward’ nor is it a time where we can nonchalantly minimize this energy down into a few simple guidelines and suggestions to get through. Because Venus herself has been so misunderstood and minimized to Goddess of the arts and love (which is a very loaded word to begin with, though most want to keep it on the happy and harmonious side), it is easy to understand why the advice given seems to focus so much on love relationships, finances, and creativity…but Venus is a dualistic goddess who can create a war as easily as she can bring about harmony and compromise. This war will manifest as an internal war for most of us, an inner conflict between what we truly feel and value and what we think we feel and value due to learned beliefs. In the chart for the exact time of her actual retrograde (12:17 PM EST) we see the Sun at 16’16 of Pisces approaching Uranus (22’15 Pisces) and trine the Moon at 17’58 Cancer…the Moon squares Venus. The Sun conjoins Uranus on 3/12 - 3/13 at 22’36 Pisces…approximately a 2 degree orb from the recent Saturn-Uranus opposition we experienced on February 5th. The Sun’s movement to conjoin Uranus will activate the energy of that opposition so if it has seemed relatively sleepy in comparison to November 2008’s Saturn/Uranus opposition, you may find that situations start to perk up in March, ready or not! In addition, Pluto stands out in the Venus retrograde chart as he is not making a major aspect…this suggests that his energy isn’t integrated and therefore can become a dominant yet hidden force (perhaps becoming noticed in late June when the Sun salutes this point from Cancer). Venus in her masculine Evening Star phase - in Aries! - will certainly dredge up primal energy while also initiating some of us into her deeper, darker energy through the shadow side of Love…Hate. We will be dipped into our unconscious and what lurks inside there isn’t likely to be a lovely woman standing on a half shell; no, I think quite a number of us will see her rising from the underworld covered in blood and guts. Whether literal in the form of terrorism, violent weather, relationship violence, or figuratively in the shape of past demons (thought patterns, memories, thoughts of old lovers) coming back to hound us, Venus in Aries as the Evening Star will aggressively push us forward no matter what that takes in whatever area of life denoted by where she is passing through our personal charts…but don’t expect this to all happen suddenly (though it is possible for those with direct planetary strikes, especially if you have planets from Pisces 20 - 22 and 29 degrees and Aries 7 - 15 degrees). It will take several months before we realize the full ramifications of this retrograde period, though we may start to have a good idea approximately 50 days after the New Venus on March 27th at 7‘15 Aries (Sabian Symbol: A man successfully expressing himself in two realms at once).

I expect we will see shifts in relationships on a global scale, which can lead to bloodbaths just as easily as positive change. Although I would love to see nations joining together in harmony and concern for one another, this isn’t quite a natural expression for Aries. Let’s face it, Aries can be very impulsive, very selfish, and driven by a desire to show off as well as show who’s boss . If Venus retrograde in Aries feels vulnerable, is she more likely to talk things through or take immediate action? Aries is much more physical than mental and doesn’t take kindly to being questioned, refused, or disobeyed. On the positive side, this energy also presents an opportunity to start anew and to develop a new perspective and improved relationships with others who are different and hold a different view of the world…it is how the energy is used that will determine the outcome. Blind faith would paint a joyous and happy picture of world peace emerging from compromise and a striving to really do what is best for all concerned…reality may present a much more somber experience.

On a more personal level, take a look back about 8 years to March 9, 2001 as the 2009 retrograde is a continuation of the Venus cycle in Aries. What happened between March 2001 and June 2001? You may find that the current retrograde eerily brings up situations that were happening then, but you are not the same person now, are you? Venus has been working her magic on you and helping you in your personal process of becoming. What - and potentially who - was important to you then may no longer suit who you are or the person you are becoming. Your values have changed and will continue to shift, perhaps noticeably, over the next four months. As you dip down into the depths of your own inner being you may find that you are no longer satisfied toeing the line your elders have set for you. Indeed the realm of relationships is undergoing major changes, which I see daily in my work…fighting the changes taking place will create a battle within and this may express as anger, aggression, depression, fault-finding, and a deep emotional/mental imbalance. Venus retrograde in Aries is asking a question, and she is asking it very loudly! Are you up for the task of approaching love and life in a whole new way? Can you initiate changes in your personal life that will help you integrate more of your own personal chart/potential for the evolution of the human race? Are your values in line with who you (and we) are becoming, or are you caught up so tightly in the web of the past that you will struggle and fight with outmoded beliefs and desires, some of which aren’t even your own? During this retrograde cycle it is your obligation to explore your deepest most personal needs, those needs that inspire you and light the flames within. Instead of focusing on faults in your relationships, keep an eye on the positives. If the positives are far and few between…well, the New Venus offers a long-term opportunity to make progress and start anew. While Venus remains retrograde it is better not to take action but rather to contemplate and consider what needs to change…then when Venus is fully in her Morning Star phase and visible to the naked eye in the morning sky (mid-May), begin to implement the necessary changes that will lead to a truer you.

The Venus retrograde will affect each of us in a unique way, depending on what aspects she makes to our natal and progressed charts, what house she is traveling in , and our own individual upbringing, worldview, societal imprint, and personality. During this 4 month time period (March - June) we will experience an awakening that is very personal. It is a time of discovery…if you shy away from exploring, you may find that the energy is thrust on you from outside yourself. Those who fight the need to look within and refuse to do it will have to deal with more sudden manifestations of Venus in her raw form. At the inferior conjunction, as the Sun approaches Venus from behind (this conjunction is the New Venus and also when she begins the shift from Evening Star to Morning Star) some of us may find that the dead has arisen from the grave and is walking about looking for closure, understanding, or renewal. Is this Zombie a part of your own inner being you have denied? Is it a lover who you miss dearly but denied in the past out of fear of true relating? Is it a dead value or an outdated view of who you are? Discord and discontent will plant the deeper seed of consciousness now that will grow and bloom in June…be it an anemone or a rose! Both have value when it comes to the shaping of the Spirit.

This retrograde period ends with Venus taking her time over 29 degrees of Pisces (4/12 - 4/24), turning direct on April 17th at 29’12 (Sabian Symbol: A prism). Order will eventually come out of the chaos, although the retrograde re-entry into Pisces promises a bit more chaos than many would choose to deal with. All the progress we’ve contemplated making for our Self over the retrograde period may suddenly turn back toward making excuses in order to please others. Being what others want or expect of you will be too easy to slip back into, but it will be a temporary back-step. Once Venus crosses over 15 degrees of Aries again on May 20 - 21 it will be more difficult to play pretend and deny your own needs.

I find it interesting that the Sabian Symbol at the beginning of the retrograde is about finding the right balance to create something (someone) of worth and the symbol as Venus turns direct is a prism…if we are able to find the necessary balance through the lessons Venus is helping to teach us we will be able to see the many nuances of being, within ourselves and within others…how we are all separate but important manifestations of the One. As the Mayans, who based their own Spiritual lives on the cycles of Venus, greeted one another, “I am another like yourself.”

Connections...Using Astrological threads to create deeper understanding and intimacy in our relationships

Ahhh, yes...I've been asked to 'teach' so many times in the past year so I have decided to put up an article that was originally published in 2007 in the Australian WellBeing Astrology Guide. It explores three of my own personal relationships and what I've learned through the experiences, along with astrological information and charts to study. Have fun! LOL

Actually I was setting up several in-depth teaching sessions in 2005 when I was torn apart in a serious car accident (May 2005), which I am still being treated for and likely will be for many, many years. I can show the chart for the accident here:

So we will see...perhaps later this year I will get back to the teaching point. Notice how far away Uranus was from my Mars/North Node at the time of the accident. I had been dealing with that transit for almost 3 years and had started to think I'd make it through as I was so careful and aware. Guess Mar/Uranus opposition the Sun wasn't much better, not with the naughty transiting SN on my Ascendent too. Nope...was struck from behind by an idiot doing 55 mph as I was coming to a stop at a redlight. He was looking down doing paperwork and talking on a cell phone and 'thought' he was in the right turn lane. The man never even BRAKED! I somehow managed to stop my car and his full sized truck, barely tapping the one in front of me while knocked unconscious. Lucky to be here, I know it. I could go on a rant here, but I won't. Suffice it to say that due to Florida NO FAULT laws, even with him admitting full responsibility, I received less than a grand in my lawsuit and have to pay out of pocket weekly for my care and can't have needed surgery. All those flocking down here really have no idea what they are getting themselves into. But this is, more or less, an astrology blog so here is the beginning of the Connections article, lol:

Relationships, particularly love and sexual relationships, offer some of our most challenging and yet rewarding experiences in life. Have you ever felt the deep, silent sadness that creeps upon you when a partner grows cold or indifferent? Felt the sharp sting of bitter words during a quarrel? Most, if not all, of us have. I have, but I have also felt the pure solid bliss of understanding, acceptance and mutual love. Without love in our lives we would wither and fade away physically, spiritually, and emotionally. We all need love to grow and evolve; we also need to experience loving relationships in order to understand and really get to know ourselves. Enjoying and exploring our connection to our partner enables us to experience who we are and discover the greater potential within our self.

The intricate connections between two people can be traced by using a compatibility method known as Synastry. Synastry is the study of a relationship between two people and shows the relationship from the perspective of each individual involved rather than simply their combined energy (which is shown with a Composite Chart). To use Synastry we draw up two natal charts (also called nativities or birth charts) and then combine the charts from each individual’s perspective. This gives us a clear picture of how each person views the partner and shows us the intricate interactions and reactions to one another as well as the energy created within the relationship itself.

When working with Synastry we are working with four charts at once, each individual natal chart and two dual wheel charts. The dual wheels are created by placing the partner’s natal chart around the outside of the person’s chart, and then the other dual wheel is created by reversing the order (the partner’s natal chart is used as the focus, with the other person’s natal chart plotted around it). By combining the houses, signs, and planets of two individuals in this manner we can determine the more problematic or smooth areas operating in a relationship. As energy is neutral, even the ‘worst’ aspects between two people can be used positively. Negative or ‘hard’ aspects are the most dynamic and growth-oriented. Without these types of aspects in a relationship things would be quite boring. The aspects often given this dark spin are the conjunction (0 degrees), the opposition (180 degrees), the square (90 degrees), the quincunx (150 degrees), the semisquare (45 degrees), the sesquiquadrate (135 degrees), and sometimes others depending on each individual astrologer’s practice. I prefer to think of these aspects as challenging rather than ‘bad,’ and therefore I consider them transformative in nature. Without enough of these transformative, growth-related aspects in a relationship it is unlikely two people would be interested in forming much of a relationship at all, let alone an intimate, sexual bond.

If two people love, honour and respect one another they will want to make the effort to improve and develop the connection even if they have difficulties between them others may not understand. With this in mind, it must also be noted that the couple must desire the same type of relationship and both must want to make it work if it is to become a long-term union. It isn’t always easy to see how things will work out between two people from the Synastry chart alone, but it does provide a good solid base with which to begin.

We will enter the Mercury retrograde 'shadow' period at 21’45 degrees of Capricorn on December 26, 2008 - Mercury will return to this degree again and pass over this point February 1, 2009 as he stations direct and prepares to leave the storm on February 7th. Prepare to rethink, redraw, replan, renegotiate, etc something that happens over December 25th - 26th around then (January 31 - February 5)! This Mercury retrograde will stir up the most trouble for Aquarius, Leo, Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, Libra, Taurus, and Scorpio - particularly the degrees ranging from 21 - 30 (Cancer/Capricorn & Aries/Libra) and 1 -7 (Leo/Aquarius & Taurus/Scorpio). Check your natal charts to see where your Sun (or other planets, points, etc) lie in any of these signs to see how this Mercury retro will affect you (or let me do it for you! Tonight...and the Wild Ride

Today/tonight there is a relatively 'rare' line-up with the Moon, Venus, and Jupiter in conjunction. If you have clear skies, take a peek. This line-up is the same as on the day I was born only this one is taking place in Capricorn rather than Scorpio, even the moon phase is the same - Crescent. Look up and find the Crescent moon, then close by you will see two bright objects - Venus and Jupiter. The occultation could be seen in Eastern Europe, I believe. The Moon has already moved on past (haven't bothered to look to see the exact time when, but it happened when it was daylight in the US) but is still in orb. Just checked and see that Venus has moved on too - Moon is at 27 Capricorn, Venus is at 23 Capricorn, and Jupiter is at 22 degrees...still in orb for those tiny ones being born tonight.

Picked up the new copy of Mountain Astrologer...I could not resist the title: The Wild Ride of 2009. Sounds like they are talking about my life!!! LOL

Venus caught in the Crossfire (Saturn - Uranus opposition - November 3 - 4, 2008)

There’s all sorts of talk in astrocircles on the web about the upcoming Saturn/Uranus opposition (exact at 8:35 am EST on November 4, 2008) and what this means on a global economic level…there is also a consistent focus on the upcoming US election. What everyone has failed to notice (from my perspective) is that this opposition also has the potential to affect many of us very personally (especially Virgo/Pisces, Gemini/Sagittarius) as Venus is caught up in a T-square formation with Saturn and Uranus on November 3, just as the two karmic planets are approaching one another. Saturn is moving forward and Uranus retrogrades back to meet him. Caught in their crossfire is Venus…we can bet she is trying to persuade both of them to compromise and learn to work together. The outlet point of this T-square will be 18 - 19 degrees Gemini (with transiting Pallas close enough to round this energy out into a Grand Cross, which I will touch on briefly). While I find the global focus to be important, it takes many individuals to make up a world.

The clash of Saturn and Uranus is where old meets new; we can no longer wallow in our comfort zones. Preaching to one another about how it ‘used’ to be and the good old days will not get us through this collision. There’s no such thing as the good old days, as any serious study of global history will show. We have had periods of peace and periods of war - this is the cyclic nature of life. The involvement of Venus in this forceful confrontation can have far reaching effects on individual relationships and love lives. Current relationships may no longer feel satisfying, especially for those who have important points, planets, or lights at 17 - 20 degrees Virgo/Pisces and Sagittarius/Gemini (Check your natal, synastry, composite, and progressed charts to see what’s being activated for you and your relationships personally). The old way of relating no longer cuts it…some relationships may blow up entirely by the end of November as Venus makes a second connection (sextile) to Uranus on November 28th, the very day after Uranus turns direct. She follows this up with a quickly blown kiss (trine) to Saturn on the 29th. For those who aren’t quite ready to pack their bags and run, the Saturn/Uranus/Venus T-square will force partners to deal with underlying issues in the relationship that have been lingering for some time. Saturn builds up structure, grounds, and stabilizes partnerships but after awhile lovers tend to fall into a rut and end up bored out of their minds with one another. With Uranus approaching Saturn in retrograde motion, karmic doors can swing wide open in the psyches of individuals and there may be a (seemingly) sudden call for revolution in the way relationship is handled. Anger may be available in abundance (helped along by Venus’ opposition to Pallas and semisextile to Mars)…if you have been having problems in an ongoing love relationship, sparks may well fly on November 3 - 4, 2008. Men may have a tendency to feel attacked by their partners and may withdraw (dragging on the Saturnian energy), only to make matters worse. Venus will be prepared to reveal her uglier side if Saturn and Uranus are unable to find a workable solution…this includes manipulation, ploys for attention, and using sex as a weapon. Don’t make her do that! She will do anything to turn the tide in her favor - you have been warned. If a love situation deteriorates to this point, there will be no winners in the end.

Saturn in Virgo will want to focus on all the details and dredge up wrongs made in the past. He will be happy to point out exactly what is going right or wrong in a relationship and he will want to come up with solutions that will improve the structure of the partnership. Yet his focus on the past and how it was leaves little room for what is now, and what will be, could be, in the future. His cold and critical stance can infuriate both Venus and Uranus, and all at once. Saturn’s traditional stance in love, especially in marriage, focuses on ‘Until death do we part.’ No matter what happens between two lovers, Saturn wants to hold the relationship together…he fails to recognize just how unhappy his partner may be (indeed, he doesn’t even recognize how unhappy he may be!) because he just wants to keep everything the same. Uranus, however, wants to have more space, more freedom to develop and breathe in the scent of the collective. He doesn’t have much appreciation for old things or even stable ones…he is comfortable with change and loves to upset rotting applecarts and stale love affairs. In Pisces, Uranus is very attuned to the collective energy and intuitively knows that to stay in the same place goes against the purpose of life itself. When Saturn and Uranus confront one another, there is a great opportunity for creative and empowered, purposeful change. Saturn can help stabilize Uranus’ out-of-control energy and ground it enough to be constructive. Uranus can rock Saturn from his stance and show him that reformation can lead to greater growth and help secure future stability. With Venus caught up between these two, it is very clear to me that it is time to experiment with Love…within relatively stable relationships, it is time to openly share how you are feeling with one another and to express any ideas you may have to improve the quality of your love life. Unstable relationships may become much more difficult, especially if one of you wants to make changes and the other clings to outmoded beliefs and feelings concerning how a relationship should function. If one of you is unhappy and the other isn’t willing to discuss making changes to improve the situation, there may really be no other option than to walk away and end the partnership. The Saturn/Venus/Uranus T-square energy may prove to be the final catalyst that helps you to see that you are doing no one any favor by staying in a relationship that is draining, unsatisfying, and a dead end. Sometimes we have to let loved ones go in order to live ourselves.

Taking this energy as a Grand Cross, we have a containment of tense, almost war-like situation. Luckily the planets (Venus, Saturn, Uranus) and the asteroid (Pallas) are all in mutable signs…this means that there is some flexibility here, and Venus may be able to charm the others into some sort of surface harmony long enough to actually discuss what is going on, which could lead to satisfactory problem solving. Of course this depends on the personalities of the two partners involved, their history together, their evolutionary level, and how this Grand Cross is connected to the individual and relationship charts. Another factor is the face Pallas decides to show…she has great healing power and can help Saturn and Uranus find a way to balance and integrate their conflicting energies - IF (and that is a big If) she wants to. She also is a fine mediator and counselor as long as she is not outraged or feels the ‘little’ people are being taken advantage of. If one of the partners in the relationship appear to be victimized by the other, Pallas will defend the underdog very verbally, perhaps poetically (she’s in Gemini) but the power of her words could be startling to stern Saturn or unsettle Uranus (who really doesn’t want to be here anyway). It is quite possible that Pallas will be too vocal, too certain of what she is putting forth, and add further friction to the potent Saturn/Uranus brew…she will tend to side with the Uranian partner, which will lead to overloaded nervous systems, erratic thinking, and Saturn’s stern and cold withdrawal if they are ganging up on him and accusing him of being the source of the trouble. Venus will not take kindly to Pallas’ interference (they are opposing one another) and before we know it, the situation could quickly escalate into a war…perhaps a distant ‘cold’ war, but a war nonetheless. Again, once Venus reveals her uglier side there will be no winners.

Hasty decisions could be made almost immediately in long-painful situations…however, it is important to keep in mind that while it may seem sudden, in reality what happens between two partners in early November is really just the icing on the cake. The cake itself may have taken years to bake (Saturn) but Uranus is going to be quick about spreading the icing. The cake is already stale, the icing fresh…but who in their right mind wants to eat it?? Only Saturn…he will take a huge bite just to prove his point. No way is Venus going to let a crumb get near her lips…Pallas is appalled that Saturn took so long to bake a simple cake, and Uranus is content licking the frosting bowl. If you are the one thinking about breaking free of a partnership, you may have all the planetary support needed to break away in November…if you haven’t started the process early in the month, you may well do so more calmly as November comes to a close. For those of you facing a potential separation and it is the last thing you desire, then you must open up to change. If a lover asks you to enter counseling with him or her, do it. If changes need to be made to satisfy you both, be willing to discuss it. Closing off, getting angry, or criticizing a lover will backfire. Not much can grow in the tundra. Finding common ground may not be easy now, but for love to grow it is imperative that partners compromise and work together to find new, more fulfilling, avenues of expression.

The Fear of Venus in the modern world ~ Learning to Love the Self & Other

Venus is a very deep and personal energy within us; it is not only the ability to love others but also to love our SELF, to cherish ourselves and to accept even the darker aspects of our own being. If a person does not love the Self, they are not able to love another.

The inability to love the Self is the source of much pain and tragedy in the world...so many women (and men) have children and do not know how to love them because they do not have self-love. Children should have the opportunity to develop the ability to love the Self and others from their connection to their parents and family, but as we so often see in our day to day lives, many children, even those within so-called ‘good’ family situations are often stymied, expected to behave according to their culture’s societal expectations and religion and to ‘make the parent’s proud.’ Other children find themselves treated as if they have no worth (as shown through such phrases as “children should be seen and not heard” or “I put you in this world, so I own you.”) or as if they are mere projections of the parents or family…puppets to serve the family function, with no worth as an individual. Still others will have to deal with jealous, hateful, and abusive parents. At the very core of these challenges is a deep-seated fear of Venus and the power she holds within our psyches…an inability to embrace the part of our own being that resonates with the Goddess Venus (Aphrodite) as symbolized by the placement of Venus in our natal chart and the aspects made to her. If we are unhappy, self-negating individuals ourselves, how can we interact with our children in a way that supports the healthy development of their own individuality and ability to love?

In today’s world, the majority of us try to subjugate Venusian energy…we want to contain it and belittle it so we do not have to deal with such potent feminine power. Once released from the shackles, who knows what she will do or how she will affect our lives. Many may feel it is safer to keep her in the closet painting her nails, but Venus will not calmly remain in hiding forever…and the longer we keep her hidden, the greater her power over us and our actions will be when she finally breaks free. This is the energy of Attraction…a raw, sexual power…a power so potent that Aphrodite won Paris’ favor simply by loosening her belt! This power lies dormant within us all, if only we learn to recognize, embrace, and harness it to learn more about our own individual needs and how to make the best choices for our own spiritual growth. Venusian energy may seem immoral, particularly to those who have disowned it within their own lives, but the energy is there to spur us forward and to help us become a productive, happy, and loving individual.

But how do we know if we are embracing or neglecting this energy in our lives? It isn’t difficult to determine....

Pluto's entry into Capricorn

I was posed a question by a client/friend a few days ago, asking me about how I felt about Pluto's entry into Capricorn and the year 2009. He has been kind enough to give permission for me to share my response here in my astrology blog - Thank You! :D Please note that all of my thoughts here are just that, thoughts. I did not do any research or astrological work to arrive at anything I have said.

To be honest, I haven't given much thought to next year on a personal or global scale. My life is so difficult at the moment it takes all I have to maintain my family and my daily work load. I have never studied worldly trends so much as I am a very personal astrologer, focusing on individuals and their relationships (and helping them get through trying times) although the world situation does affect us all and sometimes in dramatic ways.

I feel overall that we are in a major shift in consciousness and it may get worse before it gets better...it takes people like you and I to try to maintain a higher perspective and inspire others even when maybe we, ourselves, are having trouble too. It is a major challenge and can be draining to carry so many people energetically. The economic crisis will result in many turning to more spiritual things...and others to crime. With younger souls generally leading the governments, there will be continued clashes of authority and threats to all of our safety.

Pluto's entry into Capricorn may bring about karmic closures on a worldscale...closures in preparation for a new mind-set and new beginnings. Some countries may see an end to their existence or shift in how they are viewed within the world society...loss of authority for some is possible and this will lead to new laws and a new power structure within the larger picture. This position of Pluto will help us transform our philosophy and identity in order to link more solidly within a larger framework...in essence, I could say it is very possible we as the human race will begin to move more toward a global society with global laws and infrastructure. This will be a major shakeup for everyone as we shift into a larger mindset. Anger and fear of loss will drive any new wars or increase already existing tensions as boundaries become less rigid...this means also that invasions could well be on the agenda as fear drives authority figures to conquer and attempt to dominate in order to maintain their power. Any abuse of power with Pluto in Capricorn will stir up a major karmic backlash. Guilt, depression, and heavy judgment may all go hand in hand. Loss of power combined with guilt for wrong action could drive us, at absolute worst, into a new global war as countries struggle to maintain their identity. At best, those in positions of power will begin to see the error of their ways and strive to evolve and move forward into a global society/economy. Guilt for past wrongs could help bring about a deeper awareness of a need to join together to create a more peaceful environment for us all to live within. I feel that we may have to go through the darker manifestation of Pluto in Capricorn before we can move into the more positive expression.

There will of course be positive things in 2009, as always :D Even in the worst moments of life there will be something positive to hold on to and to share with others.

Ceres - Demeter...The All Nourishing Mother

Today while weeding and watering my garden and my baby plants I started thinking about the Asteroid Ceres (Greek -Demeter) and how powerful she must currently be in my chart. Oddly enough, when I came back in to the computer, I only pulled my natal chart and took a quick peek. I intend to look at the transits and progressions because my urge to be digging in dirt and nurturing my little green babies is just so strong right now. A few months prior to this new experiment I was making almost all the food we were eating from scratch and we have moved further into eating more organically despite the expense. I spent hours each week making bread, pizza crust, muffins, homemade soups, peeling and dicing all veggies, etc...and yes, I LOVED it (wasn't the first time I've done this either). Unfortunately my life is so hectic and busy with so many demands, I have sort of drifted away from that but maybe I can get things in better balance over the summer. And my baking is GLUTEN FREE and CASEIN FREE...it's a challenge and I doubt just anyone can do it unless they are very patient and willing to experiment, but my son and I both need special diets. All of this cooking and nurturing is also ruled by Ceres, the All Nourishing Mother. So I know something is really going on for me, I just need to look! LOL Didn't you know that astrologers spend their lives pouring over everyone else's chart but their own?? Early on I spent much more time on myself, now I only tend to do it when something strikes me (such as thinking about an Asteroid while in the Garden...come on, is that what most people think about when they are weeding??) :D Astrology is one of my greatest loves but she seems to be moving over a bit and allowing other loves to come in now.

Ceres is a complex figure in mythology and the Asteroid named after her is complex as well. Her associated rulerships not only encompass Virgo (my sun sign) & Cancer (my MC) but also the Taurus/Scorpio polarity. I have a supercharged Scorpio Moon (conjunct Venus AND Jupiter in my first house) which all oppose my natal Taurean Ceres in the 7th house. So I guess we could say that the energy of this asteroid is strong in my life :) The polarites of Ceres are that of Compassion and Anger, which are very much a part of my life. It is interesting to note that Ceres is the Goddess of Agriculture and all growing cycles...she is a symbol of mothering psychology within us. As a side note, the asteroids do not always appear to function obviously in some charts/lives...my opinion is that a person must be AWARE and at a certain evolutionary level before the asteroids will make a significant impact on a Soul. For those of us impacted by the asteroids, it's important to note that the energy of Ceres as Mother and Nurturer, as our Food Goddess, can be destructive just as easily as sustaining. Not all of us have pleasant supportive mothers; indeed, some of us have mothers who would just as soon swallow us alive and spit us out than provide love and guidance. And here we have the energy as expressed as a need to adapt to our environment - no matter how destitute - and survive. This is Demeter in pain, 'losing' her daughter (Persephone) to Hades/Pluto (modern ruler of Scorpio) and making the entire world pay by bringing on a famine. We see her face as a Goddess of Death and Transformation in the Persephone myth...by cutting off her nourishment, Ceres can make or break us. When her daughter finally reappears, Ceres finds that her girl is now a strong woman and not just any woman, but the Queen of the Underworld! The mother-daughter bond is transformed forever, yet Ceres once again allowed the crops to grow...once again nourishing the world, albeit with new rules.

My other interests are leaning heavily toward medical astrology and becoming a master herbalist, which is very Ceres-Virgo in nature. Using only the traditional planets and luminaries and 'major' aspects, my Sun is 'unaspected'...I have a semisquare to Venus and a quintile to Neptune (both of these are very powerfully reflected in my life, which is why I do use so-called minor aspects in my work for others...but like the asteroids, the energy isn't always strong. Again, I feel it depends on the evolutionary status of the individual). Plug in Ceres and we see that my Sun is in trine, from the 11th (Sun) to the 7th (Ceres). I do feel I am growing into my Sun sign more and more each year. Although I am not aware of other astrologers thinking this way, I believe that the Moon Sign is much more 'who' we are and that we gradually grow into our Sun...in other words, we are already our Moon - it is our natural expression of energy from birth until we begin to learn the lessons associated with our Sun sign in a more powerful way. Whatever is striking my Ceres is certainly empowering my Virgo Sun. I'm sleepy now but if I have time over the next few days I will check out the transits and progressions.

This article was first published in 2001 or 2002 in the UK in a magazine that I can't even remember the name of now. It was a New Age/Metaphysical magazine with a focus on women in business and life. I found it today while searching on several discs for an old sexual compatibility reading I did for a client back then. Never found the reading but found this! It is a very personal article that talks about how I 'fell' into my profession and discovered myself. I hope it may be useful or inspire others. I experienced my Saturn return at 29 1/2 and it was pretty much exact when I met the man mentioned in the article, for me and him both. We also share exact conjunct Ascendants. I do not discuss the Saturn return in the article because the audience would not have understood it - it wasn't written for astrologers or astrology students :)

On Creativity and Self-acceptance

It wasn’t until I was nearly thirty that I began to accept myself for who I am. I have always been different—creative. The years spent trying to fit in were a waste of time and energy. I am not one of those people who sigh and say, “I’ve always wanted to be a writer.” I’ve always been a writer. I cannot remember not writing, or not wanting to write. It is as natural to me as breathing. It is how I communicate, how I function. My first poem was published at the age of seven, so I was definitely writing then. I completed my first novel in the tenth grade, and then two more at the age of twenty-five. At this writing I have two published poetry books and I am working on a third. My novels, two complete and two in progress, are currently gathering dust.

Why did I finally give up on fitting in? I had a spiritual awakening. Meeting a new person propelled me into a world of self-discovery and self-acceptance, primarily through astrology. The way I met the man I'll simply call B was also very ‘unique.’ B and my boyfriend of 10 years had been friends since grade school, but I never met him until about a month after we purchased a computer. B grew up 20 miles from my hometown, but by the time I had met my partner in 1991, B was in the US Army serving overseas and then he married an Irish lady. The night before I met him, I dreamed of meeting him online, via MSM. The next morning, he came online, on MSM, and said “Hi.” From that very instant, we knew each other—not about each other, but we recognized each other on a soul level. It was an instantenous connection. That same night I had another dream. This dream was rather strange. All that was in it was a newspaper and the subject line was “New Computer Virus.” I scanned down the page and saw the heading—“B: New Virus.” When I went to read the article, it was written in astrological symbols. Rows and rows of them! I had never studied astrology before; in fact, I was rather skeptical of anything spiritual at that point in my life. But, I knew exactly what the symbols were. The next day I told B about the dream, and he sent me a World-of-Wisdom interpretation of my natal chart. I was amazed by the accuracy.

Since that day, I have immersed myself in astrology. It took the objectivity of astrology to learn about myself. I realized I was who I was meant to be. As a victim of sexual, mental, and physical abuse as a child, this was no small feat. The self-hatred and self-blame finally began to disperse. I was suddenly no longer a victim, but a survivor. Learning astrology came as naturally to me as writing. I didn’t begin by learning keywords and natal charts. I began my studies with synastry charts, which uses four charts at once rather than just one. I learned to read natal charts as a by-product of studying synastry. As I got deeper into my astro-studies, I began having spontaneous past-life regressions. At this point I began studying karmic astrology and found that this was the area where I was most able to help others. I realized I have a gift to see into the past. About a year after meeting B, I had a regression that showed me why I loved astrology so much and why B had been the person to awaken this interest inside of me. In this short regression, which lasted maybe 3-4 minutes at the most, B was some type of Chief/King in the area surrounding the Tigris/Euphrates rivers. I was his 'Worker of the Stars,' his right hand man and advisor. The title "Worker of the Stars" meant one thing to me--I was his Astrologer in ancient times. In this 'vision,' B was very stressed and repeating over and over, "work the stars, work the stars..." In our current life together, B and I met when he was going through a very difficult personal time, and I like to think that I was able to help him through the stress and pain, just as I was able to in the ancient past.

At this juncture in my life, I am quite amused—I am a dual major at the University of South Florida studying History and Creative Writing. When I first began college, back in 1988, I wanted to pursue Creative Writing but honestly believed I was not creative. I began by working on Journalism, but found it too restrictive. Then, after a five-year long break from college, I returned to study business and accounting. Although I am very capable in this field, I found it boring. Now I am pursuing what I enjoy the most, and I find myself sometimes wondering why I used to think I wasn’t creative, especially with my fierce writing throughout my life. I can only blame it on my own outlook of my own worthiness. Now life is finally making sense; the pieces of the puzzle are clicking into place. Through this rather uncommon journey I have found that as I help others, I am helping myself. As I teach others, I too am learning. When I ask for help or guidance, I receive it. Now I know it is good to be different—and creative.

Love and Saturn Retrograde ~ Understanding the anxiety and getting past the fear of intimacy

We all have our share of intimacy fears that develop during our childhood and difficult early relationship experiences, but for most of us, our desire to be with another - to open our Self and share our inner being with someone - is much stronger than our fears. Because our inherent drive to be with someone is so powerful, we put ourselves out there and hope for the best. Through connecting with and interacting with others romantically, we get to know ourselves and learn about our own needs and desires when it comes to relating.

For a person with Saturn retrograde in the natal chart, intimacy fears are enormous. They may have an easy time connecting with others (depending on other factors in their chart) and could be very friendly and seemingly outgoing, but if you take a closer look you will soon realize that the Saturn retrograde person gets along fabulously with strangers or ‘new’ friends but tends to shut off - castrate - those who grow to love him or her or anyone who gets close enough to notice the fine cracks in the façade the native presents to others. There is a very tender and vulnerable emotional infant lurking within the Saturn retrograde native…this may be a very small aspect of the soul, or it could be a huge part of the personality, but beneath the strongly contained ego that appears to have it all together, there is a child wanting to be loved for who he or she is… an infant wanting to be nurtured and cherished and most of all, understood and appreciated. The fear of not being good enough, not being what is expected, of being weak and vulnerable to others or worse, superseded or totally unneeded by anyone, drives the Soul with Saturn retrograde deeper and deeper into a cocoon of their own making…an isolated and lonely place to be, a stranger in the shadows watching others and wondering why he (or she) feels so horribly alone.

The Saturn retrograde individual is like a sponge that absorbs all of the energy around him (her) and intuitively knows what is going on and how to protect the self within that atmosphere…he may also take on the beliefs or thought patterns of others, especially in youth, without even being aware that these beliefs aren’t really his own but were absorbed from the family or society/culture he was raised in. There is a (karmic) distortion in the personality that allows the external world to permeate the Soul, rendering the Saturn retrograde native’s early attempts at constructing boundaries ineffective. As the ego develops, it learns to construct higher and thicker emotional walls, extremely defensive barriers, and a reserve with others that says, “Do NOT approach.” Of course those superficially involved with the native may not sense or feel any of this because the fears aren’t activated until the Saturn retro individual grows closer or more involved with a person. Let him (or her) fall in Love and Bam…the fear floods in and the walls come up. The worries that the loved one will not love the ‘true’ self can be so strong that they distance themselves or sever the relationship in order to protect the loved one…and the Self.

Ironically, if they would move toward the lover, open to the lover, and find a way to let down the barriers...

Oh, the joys of Saturn

I've been so busy with so many things that I haven't taken the time to post a blog...or really even had much to say (unusual for me, I know). At this time I have managed to live through the first Saturn pass over my Mars/South Node/Lilith (Black Moon & Asteroid) conjunction in the 11th (square N. Saturn in the 8th, sextile Venus/Moon/Jupiter in the first) and he is approaching my Sun. At the same time Saturn was passing, T. Pluto was in exact square to my natal Mercury/Pluto conjunction on the 12th house cusp. It was not fun, but then again I know the fun is just beginning. With Saturn around, I am much more quiet and lacking in energy to spur myself too much...so I am trying to keep steady and keep on keeping on. It's the only way the tortoise can make it to the finish line, lol. You can take a peek at my natal chart here

I am studying Medical astrology...actually sinking into it when I have time to do so. It is intriguing, complicated, and a difficult read - the joys! Actually, it is right up my alley. I have always been drawn to complicated things, even when it comes to movies and reading. My only wish would be that I had more time for it as I think I have a lot I could be contributing in the field...all in good time, I suppose.

Morals, Values, and the Sad State of the close-minded

As a Priest-cast Artisan (or an Artisan-cast Priest - still not sure if I am in total agreement with the Priest-cast :)), it is my very nature to share my deeply spiritual beliefs through my creativity and my counseling ability. We are at a cross-roads now in our evolution as a world group and many more people are awakening to the increasing frequency and allowing their minds to open to the possibility that yes, there is a deeper essence to our Universe than any of the current 'religions' can grasp.

I've had the pleasure of dealing with a very close-minded, moralistic person over the past few days who seems to spew her spiritual ignorance with nearly every word uttered! Her morals and her values appear to be those semi-ancient (certainly dating back to Augustine, but not much further), out-dated, and worn out morals and values that drive us into war, into separation, and hatred against others. She would sacrifice her own children in the name of 'morals'...which reminds me of a passage in the 'Holy' Bible - "Take your son, your only son – yes, Isaac, whom you love so much – and go to the land of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will point out to you." (Genesis 22:1-18) I can only pray that an Angel will come and halt her hand from doing more damage to her own family (Metatron - obviously your assistance is needed here!).

The point is, that there are so many, many close-minded people in this world who are extreme hypocrites. They can preach and judge others yet if they LOOKED in their own backyard, they might find a few bodies buried...surprise, surprise. And if they bothered to LOOK in their own mirrors in the morning instead of spying on other people (in order to judge and preach their own ignorant 'morality') they would CRACK the mirror as the true inner DEMON gazes out at them!! It's easy to project fear, suspicion, and hatred outward to other people...but it takes a strong, solid Soul to stay firm in their beliefs even when the tempest blows. A strong Soul who can accept their actions and admit to their faults. Sadly, these same moralistic people are the very weak Souls who need guidance the most, yet they think THEY have all the answers when the fact is, they have none at all. So they will never seek the help they really need, help that will awaken them to the inner truth and the possibility of reaching their full potential.

It used to upset me on a personal level when others attacked or reproached me, now more often than not I am sad or amused...it depends on the situation. But when children are involved, and mothers use their children as weapons or wish to abandon the beautiful souls they have helped create...I can only shake my head and wonder what can be done to help these lost, ignorant, and hopeless people. Love sometimes isn't enough, especially for those who have no idea what true love really is...it certainly isn't judging and condemning a husband and family based on out-dated, hopelessly ignorant 'values.'

Heartaches are a gift, a growing pain. As a child wrenched from the womb wounds the mother and the child, so too do heartaches of adulthood wound each partner.

The safe nest, the cozy confinement ends with a forceful push and rush, in spasms and contractions, pushes forward and then retreats, pushes forward, then retreats, until you are forced back out into the world, vulnerable and naked, your old view shattered as you squint into the bright light. You are no longer protected by the dark shadows of the mother’s womb - or the dark shadow of blind love.

Spiritual Being within the material world

Being in crisis has a way of forcing me to focus on my Spiritual well being...recognizing that all things are temporary (including life...and my moods! lol), I must confront the demons in the closet and the cobwebs in my soul.

We are always on a spiritual path though so many of us (sadly) are very unaware that this is so. Life can seem heavy at times, but when we take a step back and LAUGH we can see clearly how we have created such a mess and that it is up to us to solve it. Not to say that all things - or even most - can be solved, but matters on the physical plane and within our relationships can be. It takes strength of purpose, communication, and courage sometimes, but it can be done. It takes great courage and guts to reach out to others in our times of need and I am honored that in my profession I am able to be there for those courageous individuals.

My personal path has been long, twisted, and arduous but no matter how difficult it is at times, I continue pushing forward (sometimes after a good cry or reaching out to others myself) and I find my work - helping others to understand some of the most difficult aspects and relationships in their life - to be fulfilling and mutually healing for both myself and my clients. There has been very few clients who come to me that I do not recognize a synchronicity within or learn from myself.

I have been in a crisis for some time now, but particularly so in the past few days. Some people have the false impression that spiritual healers/astrologers/metaphysicians/etc are unable to help others when they themselves need help, but this is not so...at least not for me. Indeed, the deeper and more powerful my own crises, the stronger my connection to Spirit and the more intensely I throw myself into my work. Sometimes I am physically unable to keep up with what I need to do and have to take more breaks and days off, but when I do get back to being productive, the work I produce is at its peak. I am lucky in that my regular clients are willing to wait and be patient for me to deliver, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart. My health is still very much affected by the car accident I was in two years ago and I am struggling to find the funds to pay for medical procedures I need, but I will put my trust and faith in the Universe that I will be provided for. Perhaps one benefit of that nasty accident is that I am more interested in health and physical healing than ever before, when prior to it I was more focused on the state of the Soul.

I am currently reading various texts on the Michael Teachings, the Creative Astrologer by Noel Tyl, and The Schwarzbein Principle by Dr. Diana Schwarzbein.

Traveling like The Fool...

Hello! I am currently in the Cincinnati OH area and have been traveling since last Friday morning - early :) It's been an adventure, albeit a slow and meandering one. I try to be laid back but it's very difficult for someone like me with so much Virgo and Scorpio energy...so of course I have been working every day, just not so many hours!

It's so beautiful driving through the Mountains, so peaceful and green, lol. Where I live in Florida we've been having a bad drought and forest fires so the nice greenery and cooler weather further north has been more than welcome. I do so love traveling and seeing new things, places, and people. Karmically, for me, I have often been on the move in the past (in past lives and also in my childhood) so it is a 'natural' fit and helps me feel more peaceful.

I am well pleased with the Karmic Love Scopes I've started, I've seen the accuracy playing out in my own life and in those around me, so I hope that some of you will be able to benefit from them.

I have other things in the works but not sure when I will be able to present them as I have to deal with lawyers and court, etc when I return home (due to my car accident and subsequent injuries in 2005). I will be glad when it is all over with, not that it will ever be over with regarding the pain and doctors I will likely have to continue with indefinitely. The way people are these days often amazes me, how they can more or less ruin your life (or nearly so, I am such a positive person most of the time that I just struggle through it) and then still have the audacity to deny or try to take advantage of the injured person.

It's raining here today but I dare not complain, I haven't seen much rain in months!

Karma, Karma, Karma...

It's a sunny day here today in St. Pete but windy...a subtropical storm formed off the coast of GA a day or two ago and we've been feeling the breeze here! Tuesday morning was terrible with smoke so thick you could barely breathe if you opened the door, the result of fires in N Florida and Georgia and the storm blowing it down toward us...so, yeah, I'm very happy with today's weather :)

I've been thinking a lot about karma and how it builds and grows, changes, releases and how we can be our own best friend or worst enemy when it comes to our personal evolution. Sometimes it is difficult to see beyond our every day life and what is happening in the now and while living in the 'now' works for some, it doesn't work for all of us (myself included). Focusing on the past often helps me to not only understand what is happening now, but also understand how I can create my own future based on my past experiences. Our life path - our SOUL path - is circular, but not in the sense that it is a flat ongoing circle. Rather it is a spiral, we can circle up the path or circle downward. Consider Dante's Journey...or the DNA double helix...and as I am writing this, the symbolic world and spiral pattern becomes more than words in my mind. Saturn awakens from slumber...he is such a strong, spiritual planet so often treated with fear and loathing. His 28 year 'return' cycle marks major turning points in our lives and while these changes may not be easy, what would we do without this energy? Saturn may be personified as a cold, distant, father time figure but how do you envision God (the universe, Spirit)? Is your vision of Spiritual energy the all-knowing, forgiving, loving father? My vision of Spirit is of an objective, powerful energy source...sure, many of us long to return to that source, but it is so far beyond what we, as humans, know....I work with Metatron energy and this energy is not a loving, happy, let-me-take-care-of-you energy. It is a very powerful, objective source with little emotion - ok, no emotion - and a source of great insight and knowledge, but not in any sort of humanly comfort way. I feel he (that is what I consider this energy though in truth it is really sexless) feels that we can help ourselves, that we are responsible for ourselves and our actions, and that he is there to help us see how we are helping or harming ourself with our actions, behaviors, thought patterns, and beliefs.

I am currently writing an article for the website about Karmic Moon Signs and am also in the process of developing a new karmic scope - I would say more about it but as it stands, I will be the first and only to offer this type of scope on the web (to my knowledge, I looked and scoured google links for some time!) and I don't need the copycats to jump ahead of me and steal my ideas. I was the first on the web to offer an entire astrology site devoted to Love...there are so many others copying me now, it makes my head spin! That may be great for you, my customers and clients, as you have options and other's opininions on things but....

Medical - Health Astrology

Well...I can't say enough about how amazing astrology really is...the more I learn, the more I want to learn. The accuracy is outstanding and I've run across some articles and formulas lately for something that interests me (death astrology) but something I will never practice professionally. My interest in Medical/Health astrology is growing each year and I have started my studies in it. While I love my work as a relationship astrologer, I feel that I will likely move into the medical field as I grow older...only time will tell.

What's intriguing is that I am studying my chart and my children's charts using my growing knowledge of indicators of health in the natal chart and the 'cookbooks' even are quite accurate. Of course there are complications and conflicts, but that's the astrologer's job to sort out...and sort out I am. It's amazing that it has taken me nearly 36 years to come to understand that gluten is like a poison to my body...but I opened up a medical astrology cookbook type thing and there it was under Virgo (I have a LOT of Virgo). That was a surprise! Too bad I didn't read that years ago...

So what's happening with the sites? I am preparing to post the Tarot scopes at Voices from Venus - http://www.voicesfromvenus.com/tarotscopes.html and the Love Scopes at Through Night's Fire Astrology - http://www.throughnightsfire.com/scopesfromvenus.html and I am building new indexes for the candles at Venus Illuminated - http://www.venusilluminated.com to make room for the numerous varieties of candles I will be offering by next year. In addition, I am still working on the Celtic Jewelry index at Venus Illuminated. It's slow and tedious process but will be done asap! :D I am adding so many lovely new talismans, amulets, and jewelry, I really can't wait to share with everyone!

At Through Night's Fire I am redoing the consulting pages yet again...there will be conflicts and differences on some of the pages until they are ready. A lovely day, but....

I am inside working...I have toyed with the idea of booting up the laptop and going out on the patio to finish up, but I am nearly done if I could prevent my mind from wandering! lol The tarot scopes for May are nearly complete...for a while there I felt I would not be able to get to them in time but I've been working 15 hour days again just to stay on top of things. I really do love my work and my websites and my clients and visitors...yet I will need some time for myself soon.

I may take Friday and Saturday off as my son's birthday (Gare :)) is the 28th and we are having a family cookout...I am thinking bacon-wrapped shrimp on the grill, but he is sure to want hot dogs! So we will see, I can swing for both and then figure out what else I want to make later on. And Friday I have planned a long walk on the beach...I like to give myself these little motivations to keep me going strong on my long days in front of the computer. I have been working out at the gym most mornings but it just isn't the same as being outside in nature...it's a struggle for me in FL as it gets so overwhelmingly hot here in the summer months. Eventually I will be in the UK all summer though, with patience, determination, and continued hard work.

For those of you who have inquired about my health, I am still in therapy 3 - 4 days a week but the TMD specialist has taken me down to every other week now, which I hope is good news. I still have the chiropractor and massage and physical therapy 3 days a week and no indication yet when that may change, though my chiro did say on Friday I am making headway again. A new beginning...or just an update?

I've been blogging for a while on various sites sporadically and decided that now is the time to really get in gear and create a blog for the website(s). Sometimes it may seem that I am not doing many updates to the sites, or writing anything new, but the truth is I am working hard day after day to develop new content and keep on top of what I currently offer. When I have many clients at once I must turn my full attention to them - that is the main purpose after all, isn't it? My goal is to help others who come to me, so my clients are always top priority over free content! Unfortunately there are visitors who do not understand that and I receive some of the most terrible email sometimes if I miss a month of the free Love Scopes! Go figure...

I bet most of you didn't realize this was a one woman show, did you?? LOL

The primary purpose of the blog will be to keep my visitors informed of what I am working on, what's going on behind the scenes, and offer a place for me to explain why this or that wasn't done...all in all, I can be a rambler and I may not stay on topic but what I can offer is a unique, cruel, and creative look into the mind of this Astrologer/Writer/Poet/Tarot Reader/Metaphysician/Spiritual Consultant/Web Designer/Customer Service/Advertiser/eBaying Mother of 2...Yes, it gets hectic and very crazy sometimes, but I can say I live a VERY full and darkly beautiful life...
